Hi everyone...
We're going to be in Condado for the first time next week (hopefully with at least a semi-furnished apartment ), but I'd really like to know what if anything is available on site and wondered if anyone can advise?
Specifically interested in any food shops and/or restaurants.
Thanks...
Michael Hemmins

Hi Michael
At the moment there is a small PW supermarket situated at Jardin 4 which is actually quite good and reasonably priced considering they don't have any competition at the moment!
There is also a bar next to the Supermarket which appears to be only local meeting place at the moment. They do food too although I have not sampled this myself - I was too busy shopping and cleaning to allow myself the luxury! From other posts on the forum the general opinion is that the drink is quite expensive.
The tennis courts are available for use and I believe they are free at the moment.
Hope this is of some help.
Linda

Welcome to the forum neighbour.
We're also in Jardin 5 Appartment 442 and also called Mike & Dawn so at least we can remember your names.
The construction of the Foro has started but probably won't be ready till middle of next year, my guess is they will try and have it ready before the busy summer period. Are you aware that it has moved to just below Naranjos?
There is also lots more been talked about on the Condado section of Eye on Spain.
I was over last week and sampled some of the food from the Cafe/Bar it was ok if a bit pricey. Usual Tapas, Baguettes even Hamburgers & Hot Dogs. Hamburger & wedges €8, Pint lager €4,Bag of Quavers €1.50.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for the welcome!
No, not aware of any changes - not sure if it's just us, but communication from PW is poor to say the least! I guess they have a captive market for the food and drink for the time being at least...
Nevermind, been waiting two years to get into the place, so I'm going to enjoy it!!!
Cheers,

Hi Michael & Dawn
Welcome to the forum! I thought Jackie was a popular name on this forum but to get 2 Michael & Dawns that's amazing! You will get a suprise when you first see the Condado de Alhama on how big the whole area is!! Th last time I saw the place was for an hour at the end of July and by the photograghs that have been posted I am going to see a vast difference when I go out at the end of the month!! Since they have decided not to have a town Foro on the Jardines or the Noranjos, instead to merge the 2 towns into 1 Foro and move it to in between both gardens everything looks like it is temporary until the Foro town is completed. So the more we use the bar/cafe and supermarket the more chance we will keep it on Jardine 6.
Have fun next week!

Hi Michael, Dawn and MJ,
Welcome to the forum.
Off site there is a great supermarket at Camposol, just off the RM23 which runs down to Mazarron. There is also a good DIY store called BricHouse next door, a small cafe, a number of restauraunts(both visible from motorway). This is the main ex-Pat area nearest to us.
Further on in Puerto de Mazarron there is an excellent Chinese, next to the SolBank branch just as you enter Puerto, lunch menu 3 courses + drink fror 6.90 euro great value and good food.
Also Indian further down on left.

Hi all,
just got back yesterday evening after spending 9 days over there settling in. The place looks fantastic!
I was a bit disapointed at the lack of facilities on site and spoke to the PW information girls and they informed me that PolarisWorld themselves are a bit embarrassed as to thelack of facilities available to residents who have already completed.
As a result the Faro between Narajos and Jardines has now been given a 'Troop Surge'. The intention is to have the place up and running by March of next year. Apparently there are over 5000 workmen involved in this and they are working around the clock to get it done.
Then she threw me completely as she expained that the Faro in Jardines will then commence once that one is completed!!
The ground itself has been cleared and levelled in anticipation of this, and when I was out there they were running drainage etc...
In the meantime as stated earler Camposol has every amenity you could need (came in handy to watch the live football games last week in the pub).

Hi Dwinder 72
This report runs in line with what Skell reported on the Condado thread "Future Development on Condado - a report from Skell"
I am so glad to hear that they realise that there is a need for more facilities and it is a matter of urgency now!!
Very glad to hear they are keeping the area on Jardine 6 for more facilities!!
Thanks for the report Dwinder 72
