If you prefer to self cater we've stayed at La Torre and La Manga which you can find apartments on by Google, both resorts are very good. You can also find moderately priced apartments in Mazarron and Los Alcazares. You may find some availability on Condado now as I saw one advertised over the weekend unfortunately I didnt get the site but again using google you may get something. So far we have used Ryanair and have flown to San Javier. In October we will fly to Alicante and we'ved googled for flights or used skyscanner as mentioned already on the thread.

I recently stayed at the
BARCELO TORRE PACHECO
CARRETERA TORRE PACHECO
TORRE PACHECO, 30700
It was a nice hotel , quiet, clean, its nearly opposite the Mar Menor Golf resort. Ifelt it was central to visit Polaris Headquarters, airport and Condado. Otherwise alot of people have been booking up hotels in Mazzaron.

We renting in La Torre at the moment and it definately gives you a feel for what our resort is going to be like in a few years time. Definately recommended!!

When we were there last week to complete , our Parador agents recommended a hotel for us which we booked for our first three nights, it was over an hour away!!!!
We booked our remaining four nights in an apartment in Campasol which is a development just 10 minutes away.It only cost 45 euros per night, (half the price of the hotel) and was great. They had UK telly etc and the use of swimming pool. There was a supermarket and places to eat drink etc and we felt you couldn't get a better base.

I'm off over on the 15th August to complete on my Jardine apartment.
I tried Polarisworld to get flights and hotels but to be honest what they offered was nothing more or less than I could get on my own.
I'm flying over with Jet2 to San Javier £239 per person return which isnt too bad.
As for hotels I decided I wanted to be central in the region as I also want to go off and do a bit of exploring in all directions so have managed to book into the Hotel Nelva, a 4 star hotel in Murcia town. They have a special on at the moment of E70 per night per room including breakfast and designated parking space.
I'm hoping (theres a good word), to be roughly 45 minutes away from everywhere I want to go to, including Condado De Alhama.
When I get back I will post again on how I found the hotel etc...

Thanks everyone replying to me, Guess What! we will not need to go now as Spanish solicitor is going to do the NIE and complete for us.
Just gotta make the trip to london today to get my passport in my recently married name(3 weeks married tomorrow) then email the paperwork to her asap.
Parador have agreed to wait till the end of August as a apposed to 12th August. So we can save that money to spend on the next flight to go over and buy our fridge and microwave. Does anyone know the cheapest place to but these things. What bulbs do i need to buy or do they come inclusive?

Carrefour are very cheap for electrical goods and they deliver for free, e.g fridge/freezer 335, microwace from 49, washing machine 199, dishwasher 335. Hope this helps!

I stay at the Nelva in Murcia, its modern and clean and a short taxi from the Tapas bars and restaurants in central Murcia. 70 euros inc breakfast.
On the flight thing, does anyone have any information on when the new airport looks like being built|?

The carrefour I bought from was in Torrevieja, its about an hour away on the AP7, It is one of the biggest ones. The have a website, www.carrefour.es you can google the page and then translate it into english. The have a couple of more smaller stores, but if you want electriclal and furinture you need to go to the bigger store. Happy shopping and don't forget the

Thanks Angelbabe we will be over in the school holidays at the end of october would you have a ladder we could borrow to put the lights up. So stick the kettle on cos we will be camping in our appt unless you are doing a cheap price. LOL
Completion extended to 29th August via POW so i must stop this thread about flights, however cheapflights are cheap up to xmas.( we will be back then)
