We have bought on Jardin 13(12) and are due to complete on 2 July. As we need to take out building and content insurance; does anyone have any recommendations of insurance companies in the area who speak good English with good rates or does Polaris offer an insurance service as well? Thanks!

You should have received (or be about to receive) a pile of paperwork from PW within which is an insurance quote linked with Zurich Insurance. A 2 bed is around 250 Euros per year for buildings and contents. By all accounts they are pretty good if you need to claim. PS I am on Jardine 13 (J1478) too - hope to meet you soon!!

hi pauline
we took out our insurance through intasure, building, contents, public liability with accidental damage cost £123. others were cheaper but this seemed a good policy.

Thanks for the advice. I received the completion pack from Polaris today and yes they have included a quote as you have said. I suppose this is the easier option and will proabably go with them. Looking forward to meeting all our future fellow neighbours!

Hi everyone
I am new to this forum, but am buying on Jardine 13 (12) also - pol no 1452 - close to AJW - looking forward to meeting you all soon. I am an insurance broker by trade, and will be obtaining my insurance quote shortly from Ocaso, a very good company I use at present. I will let you know how they fair when I receive figures. We spend all day day around Idea looking for furnishing ideas, anyone else doing the same. Ja (my hubby) and me are due to complete Mid July..... Cant wait !

Hi Chris
Welcome to the forum, I am sure we will be interested in your expert view on insurance issues for our properties, so yes please let us know the result of your research. As far as furniture goes, now that is a minefield: take it with you, buy a furniture package, buy some from one place & some from another or import from the far east. My brain just hurts thinking about it. It’s hard for someone to give advice as it all depends on your circumstances, holiday home, renting or new permanent home. All these will determine your requirements and budget. For us its a holiday home but we intend to be their a lot of the time in the future so we are furnishing it for personal use we have probably decided on the company we are going to use to buy our furniture but again as I said its hard to recommend as its not a one size fits all solution, and the clue is in my saying probably as every time we think we have decided, we think of something new, now were did I put those pain killers.
Regards
Phil
