Neighbourhood watch

A few people have been talking about a neighbourhood watch programme after the recent burglary and attempted burglaries. Is anyone interested in this? Does Anyone know how it works?

Being an Independent Ward Cllr here in Middlesbrough, it is as simple as getting the word out, arranging a meeting, Pub would be a good idea, bring in the builders so as to know who is and or is not  doing regular deliveries to the site, possibly bring in the Police with a view as to what they would reccomend you do on coming across an issue. All you are looking for is 5 - 6 residents in an area keeping an eye on each others properties and being able to call on the same or help if the need arose etc. I would put out some sort of notice warning anyone up to no good that there is a neighbourhood watch in operation in all the languages of the same residents etc, plus meet up on say a 6 weekly basis and discuss what was seen what was done if anything, maybe visit a diy place and checkout the security measures, i.e. timer switches so as lights come on go off when youre out. and buy in bulk if required so as to save money. or get the builder to do the same for you he would certainly get it cheaper. hope this helps. see you in June hopefully as a new resident.

It would be great to have something in place. In my street there is a man in his 20s who is always looking in gardens for an oppertunity. Just now a neighbour has called on me to say be careful hes up to no good AGAIN, hes here today and he will be back tomorrow im sure. I wonder if hes looking out and watching peoples routines!

, I would let everyone know including the Police, The last thing we want is for anyone to waltz in and start this sort of thing, it would soon get about that hat S/C is easy pickings. Is he local or a Brit, if he were a Brit I would challenge him, but do not put yourself in a difficult position.

Not a brit and not spanish! Ive been doing some investigations inspector gadget style (well actually having a coffee with someone who ive just found out knows him) and it seems this bloke likes to hang around because the english throw away some good stuff in the bins! I was even told there is one english person that actually gives him stuff. He is well dressed tho and doesnt seem to be living with any difficulties as in hunger etc. It now seems its not just him but hes bringing a mate along for the ride. My friend challenged him but I dont think he speaks spanish!

SEEMS WE HAVE A PROBLEM THEN, IF WE KEEP FEEDING HIM HE WILL KEEP COMING BACK.NOW WITH ONE PAL, NEXT WEEK WITH HIS FAMILY, WHERE DOES IT STOP. I'M ALL FOR CHARITY BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF HAVING PEOPLE HANGING AROUND EXPECTING FREEBIES, I SEE ENOUGH OF THAT HERE ON A DAILY BASIS. AND WE HAVE THE KIDS TO THINK ABOUT ALSO. HENCE ME AND MINE ESCAPING THIS HELL HOLE, I DONT WANT TO SWAP IT FOR ANOTHER WITH BETTER WEATHER AND QUALITY OF LIFE ETC.MMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Ok I will take your word for it, We hope to be out in June permanantly. I'm just in the process of putting words together reference meeting the two Mayors of Los Alcazares / San Javier with a view to some work ideas I have that could benefit the two Towns. thanks for keeping us updated, appreciated.

A few updates,

Have you had yr bike stolen? If you have its possible its with the police as they caught two men stealing one the other day from Taray! the police took the bike, the men legged it!

Today 2 men were just about to pounce in my garden when they were stopped by a friend of mine. Later my friend saw the same men looking in other peoples properties. BEWARE!

Last night at approx 8.30,three men were seen to be walking around the outside of the estate trying peoples gates,please BEWARE.

Steve....I am going to have a walk round tonight at a similar time and see if these guys are around again....and ask them what they think they are doing.

In addition there was a lone guy doing the same (trying gates and having a good nosey into houses) at 1130 yesterday morning. He was aware that I was watching him and just looked at me and carried on trying the gates and looking at the houses and gardens.

Please make sure all your doors, windows and gates are locked. These people are out looking for any opportunity.

This guy was neither Spanish nor British - he looked Morrocan if anything.

hi is there a neighbourhood watch we have a 3 bed quad we dont live out there and we only just moved things in they only gave us 1 set of keys we are going to change locks when we get there next week  we hope we havent been broken in we will be there monday  has there been any more break in thanks shani

Calling for help!

Two friends of mine (dont wish to be named) were attacked yesterday in Taray and robbed (thanks to the people who helped).

They have been to hospital and are ok but have asked me to put a note on here to ask if anyone comes across a dumped bag, imparticular a red leather purse would they bring it to me as it has a very personal sentimental item in it which would be worthless to the 3 attackers but means ythe world to my friends! They are hoping they would have thrown the bag away somewhere and maybe a dog walker or someone will come across it but would have otherwise ignored it.

Please if you see it can you pick it up and bring it to me! many thanks!
