Hi all,
just wondered, after a few people have commented about the poor states of the raods at present, which is the best route to take to HRGR as we are coming out on Thursday (26th). Should I drive to Sucina and take the road from there or take the 3319 and go via Avileses ?
I would appreciate your thoughts.
Paul.

Hi Paul, to be honest there is not much in it. Possibly Avileses is slightly better, as the road from Sucina to Peraleja (the only one available until they replace the more direct road from Sucina) is pretty awful.
Also beware the unsigned and unlit speed hump outside the Peraleja entrance!
good luck

Paul,
If you are familiar with the roads, suggest you go on the Sucina road. If you haven't been out for some time, you'll be surprised by the amount of work that's been done recently. We were out for Christmas and couldn't believe the progress.
Just beware the road from Sucina to Peraleja although the hump where the Peraleja road joins the HR road has been smoothed out a bit. Its not as viscoius as it was!!

Hi all,
my other half is going out to HRGR on 8/5 and I just wondered whether there had been any change in the road layout from Sucina in the last few weeks. I was out there myself at the end of March and had to negotiate an 'off road' experience round the back of the village.
Has there been any change as she's a little bit apprehensive about driving.
Look forward to hearing from you .
Paul.

Paul,
I returned just over a week ago and the roads were in a similar state; if anything I thought the pot holes got worse during the 2 weeks we were there. You certainly don't want to be driving these roads at night if you are not familar.

A couple of updates this week on the Riquelme- Sucina direct road that has been closed for so long:-
work has once again started on finishing the new/old road from Sucina to H.R. I understand that some marking out across the field has been going on for the last few days. (Bassman)
hardcore had been laid and level pegs were dotted around. Also from the Sucina roundabout end, the rough track had acquired a tarmac surface. I am still confused as to where the link road will join the roundabout. Earlier this year it was promised to be open in June, so fingers crossed. (Bigdunc)
