Let down by tenants

Hi all

Well my 1st rental has gone down the swany..

Tenants mailed me at 10pm last night... this is message...

Dear Rob

It is regret that I write to inform you that as of today we have moved out of your apartment.

We have tried for 2 months to get a tenant for Louise’s apartment and unfortunately have been unable to secure one thus far.  We are no longer in a position to pay both her mortgage and rent to you. 

We will leave you with the €700 deposit that was paid.  This will more than cover any outstanding bills and inconvenience.

Rest assured the apartment has been left clean and tidy with all bed linen, towels etc. laundered.  We have left all keys on the dining table in the apartment. 

The only thing that has been broken is the glass on the wall light fitting leading to the solarium.  This happened when we were moving a plant up there – apologies for that. 

Your personal items that we boxed up are locked in your storage room no. 4. 

We had hoped to make your apartment our home for 11 months but unfortunately due to the change in circumstances this is not possible.

They didnt even let me know there were having problems, just upped and left,  left keys in apt, closed front door ( not even double locked ) and walked away...

Now im out of pocket as had to pay agents a fee,  they dont seem bothered at all...

Just one of the original reasons why i didnt want to rent apt out....I would have be ok if they had at least given me one months notice..all i got was a 2 minute warning, so much for lease agreements..

Very annoyed..

Sorry to hear the bad news Rob.

Not all tenants are bad it sounds like poor management from the rental agent to me. Can you name them?

Im going after them for outstanding bills,  its not agents fault, they didnt even know they left and agent lives on complex..They did a bolt in the eve, mailed me at 10pm saying we have left..

Hopefully i will have a new tenant in for May and willing to pay whole rent up front..

Does Lightning strike twice, Oh yes...

New tenants moved in June 1st, after 2 days started requesting more and more items to be added to apt.

Then on June 14th my agents mail me saying tenants dont like apt and are giving 2 months  notice..

Another rental nightmare and the last i may add, unless i rent it out myself, no more wasting money on agents..

Sorry to hear the bad news. Sounds like the only winner was the agent as usual! If you do decide to rent the apartment out privately and you need a key holder /cleaners etc take a look at my web site below under the managment section.

I didn't manage to get to CG this summer so was wondering if anybody could give me an update on things, i.e how busy, state of gardens/pools etc. Any info appreciated

This year seemed like there were a lot more people about. The gardens and pools all look at there best.
