Hi Vincent
I have just received an e-mail from Adfinsur ref: the meeting, have you received your email? If not let me know and I will forward it on.
I would agree with you as there was only about 20 people there on the day, which I know some people had proxy votes, as I had yours, but if you hadn’t text me before you left I wouldn’t have known about the meeting either, and one chap who arrived on the day didn’t know it was going on and he was a resident, Carol Caldwell had to explain what was going on to him.
Out of approx 120 households only 20 turned up with another 14 via proxy, which isn’t a good turn out by any stretch of the imagination, but I would not put the blame on Peter’s shoulders, I would put the blame at Adfinsurs.
Without being disrespectful to adfinsur we as a community must get better at informing “Everyone” about meetings etc, they shouldn’t be rushed, I would say give Adfinsur 4 weeks to inform and get back responses, to up and coming meetings. After all isn’t that what we are paying them for? Again without being disrespectful it was Laura from Adfinsur who was trying to rush the meeting and get Peter to get decisions made, who works for whom?
I’m sure the next meeting will be more organised as we must learn from this one and previous ones where people haven’t been aware of them.
