Hi
Does anyone have any further news on the electric supply at Horizonte? I run a rental agency and we have a tenant living in this community. The electric has been cut off now for 2 weeks and as such we have had to temporarily move him out. The owners lawyers have said they cannot do very much as there are still outstanding debts with Sevillana due to the administrators not paying and until these are paid they cannot set up an individual contract. I understand that the president was trying to get the town hall to intervene but as yet nothing seems to have been sorted. It also amazes me that a whole community could be cut off, not through any fault of the owners. Surely this is against the law or at least in violation of human rights??? Any advise or help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
No further news on this although I believe television crews were there last week reporting on the matter. Just to correct your submission though, it is the developers who have not paid Sevillana. The community does not yet have an Administrator.

Hi Marios,
Sorry I was told that the problem lay with the former administrators Garcia Castillo, but obviously this is not the case. The latest I heard was that the TV crew did do an interview last week but not sure if that has helped in any way. I feel very sorry for all those living there, it must be terrible living without electric. I do hope something is resolved soon. If you do hear of anything please let me know.
Many thanks

Hi there, we came over to the development about 2 weeks with the possibility of completing on the apartment. We were shocked to hear there was no electricity and were told by the developers it would probably be another 6 weeks! We spoke to some residents there who told us that there was a generator, but we couldn't hear it running either times we were there. We were shocked to see the state of the swimming pool and to see there is no children's play area.
Am I right in thinking that no community has been set as yet??
We obviously didn't complete and will be seeking legal advice.
Am intrigued to hear how things are for other residents!!

Hi,
It is a long story but the signs are now quite positive.
There is a generator there which works from 1800 to 2400 each day supplying electricity.
There is a Community setup (since January) which has been very active in getting the outstanding issues highlighted and gradually resolved and yes we are hoping full electricity will be online within about 6 weeks.
Then the Community will focus on getting all the outstanding issues resolved with the developer and hopefully that will happen quickly.
From our point of view, apart from these problems, we have had some really good stays there in the past 18 months and are really pleased with the apartment.
We have learnt that Spain is Spain not England and things take a little longer which at first is frustrating.
Hope that puts you at a bit more ease.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear that some progress is being made although only having 6 hours of electric a day is still not good enough. Hopefully all will return to normal soon. Do you know if owners then will then be able to set up individual contracts directly with Sevillana?
Thanks again and if you hear of anything else please let me know.

Hi all
My lawyer contacted me to say there was a meeting held last friday at sevianna. not sure what the outcome was.
yes the last time i was there the generator was working, its cut at 12 midnight which is not much good if you are on vacation and you cant use the a/c so i just wont go back until the electricity is connected,
im not sure when it will be connected, my fear is it could go on indefinitly because apparantly by law sevianna do not have to connect until they have been paid by the developer c.60k
if i get any updated news i will inform you of same
regards
derek

yes it is still off, going on for 2 years now, I was assured it would be on in January, now March, at least if it is connected residents could rent out there units etc
when it is connected i would suggest engaging with a reputable managing company to upgrade common areas and pool area
regards

Hi all
The electricity is cut off. Apparently the electricity company have agreed to reconnect on the basis that each resident pays c. €700. There are c 18 residents. The problem was the electricity was originally connected to the developers account and so the residents got free electricity for more than 1 year. The developer refused to pay, of course it was never free and would have to be paid eventually. I flagged this 18 months ago.
So as each resident pays the money they will be connected on an individual basis. This is my understanding of the situation at present. Summer is approaching and so now is the time to apply pressure to get this deal over the line.
If any one has any more info please let me know.

Hi
I have been told when the community has been given a "hire date", residents should then contact Jose Garcia (tel 625604 500), make the payment and give a copy of passport and the deed of the apartment.
Once submitted Jose Garcia will contact Marbella supply and the owner will be contracted to the power supply.
I have tried to post the resident managing agents email address here but this forum will not let me. I have asked her when they are likely to me given a "hire date" and I am awaiting her response.
If someone here speaks Spanish I suggest they try to phone Jose Garcia. Please let me know what the response is.
Thanks
