Hi Mark,
Here's my view on things
We have also bought on La Isla Block 10. We also bought into the whole concept being surround by water and golf courses with the added luxury of having the La Isla to ourselves as it is gated from the rest of the resort, great for security.
We have had little or no info from Polaris last we heard letters were supposed to be going out at start of April I phoned PW for snagging dates and they would not confirm anything just told me to contact the completion team would be in contact when ready.
My big concern is the moving of the Faro as I cannot see PW building the Oasis now in it's original position as it would be so close to the Faro ( I hope I am wrong because the Oasis sold it for me ). PW have told me that the Oasis is still going ahead. I just wish we had been notified of the changes by PW but instead found out by this blog. Who knows it might even be better only time will tell.
Bare in mind the Spanish have a very different attitude to us Brits, they are just more laid back and don't really understand why we worry so much. PW are the biggest resort builders in Spain and so can ride the recession better than most.
I'm sure the golf courses will be built because of the association with Jack Nicklaus ( wouldn't look good on the Golden Bear if they failed to build ). We also spoke to PW and their agents at the Ideal Home Expo told them my concerns and got a positive response basically saying yes somethings have changed due to the recession but they are committed contractually and as a Company to completing Condado and that the Oasis will be going ahead in it's original location ( big relief ).
You are probably like myself worried annoyed anxious but also excited all at the same time.
I will reserve judgement when we go out to snag as we have only been out in 07 to buy. Bare in mind we can all worry get angry fight PW on all the issues and still not get anywhere or do the Spanish way chill out relax go with the flow and it will all work out great!!!!!
Bottom line when we move in I shall be having the time of my life getting to know the surrounding areas and cities going skiing in winter and lazing in the sun and letting PW worry about getting the resort finished. In a few years the resort will be finished and you will be patting yourself on the back thinking how lucky you are.
Even with all that is going on my wife and I are still busy buying up bargains to ship out when we complete because you have to have faith in the project and obviously being financially committed helps focus the mind on a positive outcome.
Yes you could walk away from your deposit and by cheaper elsewhere but it would not be a good as Condado will be once complete.
These blogs are good for info but they also bring a lot of worry when you read a negative remark basically keep an open mind and believe in you gut feeling.
A cold beer on your balcony in Spain is way better than a burnt sausage at a wet UK BBQ
