I know there is now much written here around the community that is Jardines de Montemar and its current status
I really do not want to be drawn into discussing what advice individual purchasers were given by either developers, estate agents, lawyers or anyone else or indeed drawn into personal views on the legality of the complex that people hold – this is all individual opinions and much debate could be had and its not my purpose for posting.
However I would like to update those interested in the current position of the community from the community viewpoint.
The owners started completing from around September last year. We took over actively running the community from January this year when a previous arrangement for site maintenance between the developer and their selected maintenance company broke down.
Since then we have mainly dealt with an issue regarding electricity to the site that has now been rectified. We also have in place garden & site maintenance and have recently instructed outdoor pool maintenance for both outdoor pools now the electricity issue has been resolved. All legal requirements regarding insurance etc are also in place.
I think its important that anyone reading this forum understands that the community have the plans and budget in place to ensure the site is well maintained and at an affordable cost to the current number of owners. We intend to ensure that the site flourishes so that we can all enjoy our apartments as we had all planned to, as well as ensuring that the rental requirements are met
If others choose to complete in the future then we will happily, and warmly, welcome them into our community but the success and maintenance of the community is not dependant on people completing.
My reason for posting is that I just wanted to counter the previous comment and view that our community would “:probably become another derelict abandoned complex.” And that “The future does not seem rosy for Jardines de Montemar.” I understand the frustration out there and in no way wish to play down the difficult choices and challenges that people are facing regarding their investments but wanted the current position regarding the community to be added for information.
We have been informed recently that Rushcliffe are now in a position for others to complete due to changes in their situation, but I do not know more than that.
