Folks,
I am due to complete on La Isla at the end of August 09. Considering stopping at La Torre as opposed to CDA to get all business sorted out. Is it worth considering on CDA as of yet and will the Foro be operational by 26/08? If so is it just the Irish bar or will there be a restaurant as well?
We arrive on Wednesday 26/08 and leave on Monday 31/08. Do you think we will have enough time to get everything sorted?
Cheers,
Mark

Have you been to Condado recently? I think you would see its perfectly practical to spend a week or more there- afterall there are pemanent residents. Its looking very good, the main supermarket should open tomorrow, the Clover bar close behind and hopefully a restaurant soon and mazarron is close by for other restaurants. Its true CdA's restaurant facilities arent as far on as la Torre but it terms of being able to stay- its great. Provided your dates for completion hold up you should get those essentials done in your time frame- in terms of furnishing and looking at furniture we completed last Aug and we were still buying things last week! So its whether to go for the furniture pack or DIY.

Mark,
Although we haven't got a completion date for La Isla as yet, we've just spent a week out there and stayed at La Torre. Although CDA has come on a long way since we first visited what was little more than a building site in Feb.08, I still don't think there's sufficient infrastructure to spend time there as compared to La Torre.
I guess it's all subjective and much will depend of where your business needs to be done but we found La Torre convenient enough and there's a great buzz about the place of an evening. Yes the on site restaurants and bars are rediculously expensive but they are of good quality and then there is of course a big choice just ten minutes down the road in either San Javier or Los Alcazares.
Regards, Julian

As said personal choice but having just come back from 10 days at CdA we can only say we thoroughly enjoyed it. Mind you we are not looking to eat out regularly so that might make a difference. We stayed at La Torre last year and it was lovely but very happy to use our own resort now. Hoping the Clover Bar is open by the time of our next visit as a good bar is the one thing we felt was missing

CDA with the new town center opening tomorrow is ready to house all La Isla residents.
It is busy here right now, the bar will open this week and I don't think the restaurant will be far behind. The gardens here are much more social than the layout at La Torre, give it a try I think you would enjoy it.
You can find a lot of apartments for rent on CDA on the community site.

Hi Mark,
Sounds like a flying visit, I assume you are snagging Thursday and completing Friday? Assume you have everything else sorted i.e NIE's, bank accounts? OK, then. If all you are doing this time is completing, then you have just enough time, complete by Friday, have the weekend off site seeing then fly home. You need to arrange to pick up the bankers draft, assuming you arn't getting a mortgage?, so if you've doing this the same day as the snagging you will have a dash betwen the bank and CdA. Oh and you'll have to come to CdA to get you keys.
So depending on where you bank is, you would probably be better off at La Torre this time as it will cut down on the driving between the bank and the Notaries and as you say there is more for you to do over the weekend there, but when you come out again to start furnishing, then I'd stay at CdA.

Yes the driving about would probably detirmine where to stay. Although with snagging and key collection coming back and forth to CdA will be necessary. I imagine the views from La Isla wil make all that worthwhile.
