Just returned after a fantastic 10 days on C de A!!
We were there for the opening of the bar and it was absolutely buzzing.We went quite a few times after that and found it a really lovely atmosphere particularly when sitting outside with kids having a great time with so much space to run around. it was really relaxing. Let's hope they open some of the other units soon to benefit from the busy summer season. I believe the pizza/tapas restaraunt is the next to open.
We found the 15-20 min walk from our apartment (Block 2) quite enjoyable if we walked the path at the front of the penthouses overlooking the golf course, as we did find the walk on the main road quite boring. It was nice to see how many other penthouses were occupied, as even though our one of the great things about the penthouses is the complete privacy, it can be a bit isolating at times. Of course this will change when the golf course opens. We then walked back from the Clover through the Naranjos Jardines which again it was great to be able to stop and say hello on the way.
Anyway back to the Clover. The only negative thing we found and I felt it only fair to share, was that the same barman tried to fob us off (not once but twice) with someone's left over glass of white wine, complete with lipstick marks, that he had conveniently hidden in the fridge. The same barman conveniently forgot to issue a receipt at times. This happened when we ordered at the bar ourselves, so we were able to see what went on, but of course if you odrer from the waiter outside you get a receipt, but you could be getting someone's left overs. I hasten to add that most of the waiters there are honest, hardworking and friendly, but there's always one who spolis things in every situation. I think in retrospect we should have had a word with the manager but didn't. All in all though it certainly hasn't put us off. The Clover is agreat place to relax and have a drink with a few friends.

Thanks for the information, I would recommend you send the information of what you witnessed to the Customer Relations and Events Manager, Marta Aldaz Gallego, (marta.aldaz@polarisworld.com). It look from what you have witnessed that this member of staff and probably others are re-selling drinks left by customers to cover-up the pocketing of money from customers that has not been registered though the till, if they just pocket the money they take in isolation the stock level would show more stock has been sold than the taking received. To cover this up staffs will resell the dregs from customer’s drinks, this can be done in a number of ways like having beer glasses under the bar which are part full with dregs from collected glasses or poring leftover wine back into wine bottles to re sell it. This practice helps cover up the shortfall in takings and is often done by more than one member of staff as a team effort. Other than it is clearly theft from the company which is something we could turn a blind eye too if we wish, it is also a significant hygiene and health issue to all customers. If I was to witness this practice I would have no hesitation in reporting it to public health and the other authorities also.

Glad you have a good time, but you must report what happened, that is disgusting, not just trying to fob you off with a second hand drink, but also ripping people off,as there prices are certainly not cheap
This dishonesty should be nipped in the bud

Hi Cherrie,
I would also like to say that this incident should be reported. What you are describing is not only disgusting and vile but fraudulent not only to PW but also to the residents of Condado. This activity needs to be caught early and stamped out.
P.S. Just got back from Ossett tonight, thought you were out in Spain but obviously not. Sorry we missed you.

Hi all.
Yes it was us on condado TV. Yes you're all right to say that it needs to be reported. Obviously, we don't have concrete proof that this happened, only that Nigel saw a glass of wine complete with lipstick marks being taken from the fridge and seved to him. When he challenged the barman, he offered to add more wine thinking that Nigel wasn't happy with the amount. Why else would a glass of wine be kept in the fridge? It certainly APPEARED to be a leftover glass of wine. Maybe it just happened to us. I'm surprised we didn't hear similar stories while we were there.

Ask for a reclamacion (complaint form). It can be filled out in English and have to be stamped 1 copy to you.
All establishments have to have them by law. They are sent to Murcia and taken very seriously, (much more serious then a gen complaint form in UK)they are then investigated. Most places will do anything to prevent having to give them out but you can call the police if you are refused one.

a similar thing happened to me in the surgery with herbert, he had poured out one more beer that was asked for, to a couple outside, he took the pint back muttering under his breath, i then went for another pint about ten minutes after this and he tried to give me this pint, i refused and he couldn't beleive i was being so arkward,
warm beer, no head and 3.50 no way, i think this may be the norm???? but i would certainly not accept this kind of service, and the spanish will definately not. i just think, that they think that we won't complain?

Whey-Hey !!!
Some common sense offers at last. Let's hope this is the first of many and Polaris are starting to recognise steady cash flow & bums on seats is the best way to make money.
