Just got back from doing another 2 weeks homework in Murcia and have nearly finished planning the furnishing of our Menta-West atico (in our heads), for when it eventually gets built. Lots of ideas from different furniture stores etc. but one concrete decision for us is to use Eurospas at El Pareton ,which is only 20 mins drive from Corvera for our Spa/hot-tub. We drove over on the off-chance after finding them previously on the web (http://www.eurospas1.com/) and spent an hour or so looking at the various models they have to offer, both in brochures and in the flesh so to speak. Sue (Mrs Spa) gave us the guided tour of the showroom and talked us through the facts, apparently Jez (Mr Spa)has even had the manufacturer in the USA change the electrics to a lower ampage so that it will not blow your good old Spanish trip switch every time you want to make a cup of tea for the wife whilst she is having a bubbly bath. The quality is up with the best I've come across and the prices seem to be only beatable by cheap Chinese imitations. They have a choice of over a dozen different model and we have narrowed ours down to a choice of two. Jez (the owner of the firm arrived just as we were about to leave and so we spent another half an hour talking to him about deliveries cranes (they have their own hi-ab) and stock (between 40-60 at any one time.

As the orange man with the fuzzy grey perm on T.V. says these people are the 'real-deal' so if you're thinking of putting a tub on that plinth that Calidona have so thoughtfully provided I suggest you give them a ring.

Thanks for that Steve, definately food for thought.  You say that Calidonia have put plinths on the terraces/balconies for the spa baths.  Are the balconies really large enough to take one.  Ours is a Tilo atico with two terraces, but I'm not really sure how big they actually are.

Regards

Anita

Hi Anita

I don't for one minute suppose ALL properties will have a terrace plinth built-in, because some do not have large enough terraces but the first floor 3-bed tilo's will be the same as the showhouse and this definately had enough room, provided you don't want an eating area and a lounging area as well as a six-person hot-tub. All that said Jez at Eurospas has a large selection of tubs from a single person therapy one up to an all-singing, all dancing, music playing, disco lighting one at the top end of the pile.

The good thing about a tub is it doesn't have to be just a hot tub but can also be used as a dip pool when you are on the first floor or above alleviating  the necessity to go up and down stairs/lifts and use the communal swimming pool just to cool off.

Hi all,

I visited the resort for the first time yesterday (measuring up for curtains) and noticed that one of the ground floor apartments had a large hot tub on the terrace, it struck me as a great idea and seemed to fit very well. (Although I have to admit that I'm not that familiar with the various styles of apartment etc.

We're considering having one too on our solarium if budget permits!

I have had several clients who have had hot tubs fitted on Roda properties and they have all required additional strengthening on their roof terraces to support the considerable weight of both hot tub and water.

It would be a good idea for Corvera clients who are interested in installing a hot tub to speak to the sales office in Corvera to check if the plinth or area where the hot tub will be situated is strong enough to bear the weight as not all areas will take the extra load.

For a large number of the properties they have atually automatically provisioned for the instllation of a hot tub by providing dedicated plumbing and electrics automatically connected to a seperate fuse in the fuse box

You can easily see this on the terraces, the extra socket and water drains in the corner

Just to say that Eurospas even have a 2-person spa that will fit on the smallest terrace if you really want one.
