Planning for the future

Hi all,

after reading a thread on for Condado about presidents, I thought I should start one for La Isla. I know we have only just taken up our properties and it is early days, but time will soon creep by and we will need a president for the Isla if not for each block? Someone may be able to advise.

Is there anyone who is going to or is living on the Island who may want to be up for the job. Does anyone know someone who might be able to represent us. Can someone advise if the president has to be an owner or not?

It would be good from the start to be ready for the formation of our society rather than have a Polaris world appointed person.

I would nominate myself but I have a company in the UK that takes most of my time and I do not speak Spanish (as yet) but It would be good if we could have a Spanish (or Spanish Speaking) person who knows the score well if you know what I mean.

On another note I am also starting to prepare for the World Cup! yes it will be upon us soon enough. Booked the flights for 17th June so I am able to see 2 England matches 1 Spanish and a Brazil. Can't wait to be able to dip in the pool, sun bathe, then watch a bit of football while the meat is cooking on the BBQ. To that end anyone who fancies a drink and watch a game are more than welcome.

There is a new web page started just for La Island community,It is in spanish but in the top corner there is a translate button that puts it in to English.On it the organisers are trying to get meetings with polaris to discuss all issues that come up and they are wanting more of the community to register the web page is isladelcondadodealhama.ning.com/

after a bit of routing around I have been able to sign in to ning, but now it is saying I have to be invited.

To get on the web page  e-mail Paco Magana(fmagana@gmail.com) he is the web creator and will give you details to get on.At the moment mainly Spanish members but there is a translate button and it is worth reading if you are an owner on La Isla.

as Pat has told you, ask Paco to invite you. He has created the web and he´s the one that´s making a big effort to get in touch with as many oweners form la isla as possible, so that we can work together just for the issues you were asking for.

About the resort, I think that there will be a meeting on january 30th, but I don´t know who´s going to be there. Anyway, we know that RPM will do all the resort management. I can´t add the link bc this is my first post and the website doesn´t allow me to.

As Pat has told you, most of us are spanish there, but hopefully there will be more enlish speakers and we´ll work it out to comunicate.

Feel free to ask me if you need any help with that.

Just joined the new La Isla Site as we have been emailing one of the Spanish residents and they sent us an invite on email.

Looks all very positive for the future, positive steps for once. We have been over four times since we completed in August and just love the place.

As for Presidents personally I would like to see a Spanish owner as President as I'm sure you can all appreciate the advantages.

I would however like to get involved on some level as I feel it is only right that we all look after La Isla in some way. I already feel a connection to the place and want to do all I can to ensure La Isla truly becomes the place of our dreams.

Neil hope this is you sorry for the long text about paint details nearly wore my fingers out tapping away ha ha. I will also be hoping to get out there for some of the footie.

Hope to be out in the next few weeks to play with our apartment just can't get enough of that red wine.

I have not been able to be invited to the spanish web site but thank you Pete for the email which you recieved etc.

After hearing the news regarding RPM I feel we should all be getting together. I believe that the other site was going to hold a meeting soon. I will be over on the 4th onwards so could attend if poss?

I am also concerned about the pool filtration system not working by Block 10, has anyone asked about this before I do.
