Hi just copied the following info from terrazas comminity web page with refrence to the opening of the first nine holes

MARCH / MARZO 2010

The 1st March 2010 was the re-opening of the Supermarket in Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort with a new timetable, Monday to Friday from 9a.m. to 3p.m.

We take this opportunity to remind you that the AGM is near; it will be the 31st March at 4.30 p.m. As soon as the agenda is available a Communication shall be forwarded to all owners.

Just the day after the AGM, 1st April, the golf course will be inaugurated; it will be open 9 holes. Between the 15th May and the 1st June it will be open the other 9 holes.
At the entrance of the resort we also have news, the readers of car registration plates are already working, therefore we advise all owners to give their data to security on the next visit to the resort. Also the surveillance cameras are already being tested; very soon the whole security system will be fully operational.
May it be that very soon will be possible to receive post mail at the resort, we are currently waiting for the post office to give green light for it. The 1st March a manager from Correos was at the resort checking that the post boxes are according to the rules, but we are waiting for a definitive date. Please note that at the AGM it will be delivered the keys of the post boxes to all attendees. The owner who can not attend the meeting may collect the key at the security gate from the 12th April, only will have to present an identification (NIE, DRIVER LICENSE or PASSPORT).
A very important information and very useful, is that the builder developer has closed the Call Center and reduced staff of the Customer Service Department, as many owners already know. Any information or issue must be reported through the web site of the Promoter, www.polarisworld.com, or the owner will have to go to the headquarters of Polaris World at the Industrial State in Bálsicas.

Regards

Graham

Clubs cleaned, shoes polished, trollyed oiled - All that was need was a golf course opening on the 1 April as promised, but clearly this was an April Fool joke on the side of Polaris.

We visited from 4 April till the 9th and there was not a sign of any activity on thE golf course.  We went to Polaris to ask why they had failed to deliver on a promise yet again, but unfortunately all the Polaris Customer Service team were in meetings.  The Customer Services team now consists of just two people and when we entered the bottom floor showroom at Polaris HQ it was in the dark with only a receptionist and security guard present.  It does not seem that long ago that this was a hive of activity selling properties.

The news we were given was the course opening had been delayed because Polaris wanted to open the town centre at the same time.  This was due late April/ Early May.  Given that the town centre is just a shell, this not be opening for some time.  I assume that they meant April/May 2011!

Steve.

Lets think it through! Town Centre & golf course? What have they in common? Can't think of much reason why they should open at the same time

Just another lie from hard pressed PW staff perhaps? It probably sounded as good as any other lie he/she could dream up/ be asked to tell at the time. I wonder how close to the truth we will get after the 22nd?

Dave,

To be honest, I was not that impressed with the Town Centre progress.  It reminded me of visiting the backlot at Universal Studios where it looks real from a distance, but when you get up close it is only a skeleton structure made to look as if it is real.

Hopefully we'll be playing the course by the summer, but I can't see us shoping, eating or drinking in the Town Centre until next year.

Hi Steve

I know exactly what you mean, I've been on that Universal Studios tour as well. I think they have "confessed" that it will be the end of the year at least before it is built & opened. That normally translates to "end of next year" but I for one didn't expect to see it even to the stage it is at now given all their circumstances.

Being positive I think the fact that is there at all is a positive sign that Terrazas will not just be left as some blocks of apartments in a field with no facilities.

I have not had the opporunity to walk around the whole site but my impression is that there are around 9 holes close to being playable but much to be done elsewhere - could be wrong of course. The noticeboard at La Torre has a flyer for the 1st Nicklaus Golf Circuit and La Torre Sur aka Terrazas is slotted in for 15th May. A 9 holer methinks!

Anyway I do hope that you are playing by the summer - if not give me a shout and we can play La Torre - I am over in July & August.

Cheers

Dave
