Personally I would like to think this is all true but I can't help but think it is all b/s to help promote the region of Murcia. Correct me if I am wrong if anyone has any other views?

Not a word nor a whisper has been heard of the feasability study being done, however you never know as there's long been rumours. Perhaps all this gossip is the closest Murcia will get to a major 'theme park' being built
From Coastrider.net:-
"Paramount Spain even denied there had been a meeting in Dubai, at least with any one from their company that they were aware of and went out of their way to say there was no verbal or written agreement between the company and the Murcian government.
This was despite, according to press reports, the Murcian politicians having a signed letter of accord from a consulting company about the project. The consulting company involved has a long term licensing deal with Paramount to develop a theme park in the United Arab Emirates and this is perhaps where any confusion has arisen.
‘NO’ MEANS ‘YES’
It would seem as if that was that but following the rebuttal by Paramount the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Pedro Alberto Cruz, was quoted in the Europa Press as calling for calm and that the possibility of the theme park coming to Murcia was still very much in play. He went on to say it was quite reasonable and logical that they (Paramount) would be unable to confirm the project when there was not a signed detailed agreement in place yet."

This all makes sense as I have been trying to get a response from Polaris Homestyle for the past 3 weeks and to date no response has been received. No doubt they are also in the process of releasing all staff. Whilst I appreciate this is all blamed on the global recession, Polaris in my opinion had within their gift a potentially very strong business model that has just been put to waste. I am sure that many people agree when I say that some of the more basics such as delivering excellent customer service, ongoing customer care and more robust marketing would have gone a long way to their success if the right people were in post as opposed to the lazy bunch of uncommitted people that I have had the misfortune of dealing with from day 1. I personally hope the Paramount thing comes off as the American agenda will surely focus more on this type of service as opposed to the Spanish way of doing business. The way in which Polaris have operated is totally unacceptable and until more measures are put in place to protect the end customer from a Spanish law perspective the better.
Anyway I am off to plan a golf course now in the farmers field behind me that incidently will be designed by Tiger Woods. If anyone is interested in any frontline apartments these will start at £500k. How can businesses get away with the constant mis-selling through providing untrue marketing campaigns. It makes me sick!!

From this weeks Simply Networking:_
"Paramount, this project may not be a dead donkey after all.........
Paramount Theme Park in Murcia, possible signs of life in Paramount project
Dont get too excited , but there may be some life in the dead donkey yet.
A most peculiar little note was in amongst the mass ofnbsp banal and boring press releases we sift through daily in search of something that might interest the ex-pat community.
It was released following an extraordinary meeting of those who work in the vast number of bodies and departments working to promote the Mar Menor as a tourist destination. One of the points of action following this meeting had been to send a letter to Marina Garcia Vidal, who is the head of tourism in the Region of Murcia asking her to consider the offer made by the nbspMar Menor to be the site of the Paramount theme park.
The letter acknowledged the viability studies being carried out, and put forward the case for the Mar Menor to be the chosen one based on its wonderful beaches, accommodation, infrastructure, transport, new tram line etc etc.
What is interesting about this little letter is that there an absolute assumption that the viability studies are still underway and absolutely no indication that the project is a over and done with.
And this meeting was attended by some fairly important people who should know about these things.
Pedro Cruz was adamant during all the fuss which followed an announcement from Paramount that they were not looking at the Region of Murcia that he was in negotiation with Ruwaad who were the agency charged with development projects and that viability studies were still underway.
Dont get too excited, but this project may not be a dead donkey after all."
