Hola to all readers of our Message Boards

I expect you all now know that Presidents have been elected for the various Phases and also the garage.  Did anyone receive notice from Gesisur that there was to be a meeting to elect these people.  Again did anyone manage to attend and vote at it, if so could you forward some details, ie when held, how many attended, where was it held etc.  From e-mails I have received from Gesisur all the elected presidents are Spanish and are supposedly to be resident.  However during our 4 weeks stay over Xmas, and wanting to report a number of problems we had experienced to the president  of our Phase, who happens to have the apt over ours, was never to our knowledge in attendance.   So our only option was to e-mail Gesisur of our complaints on our return home, as yet we still await a reply.  Has anyone made contact with their President, and have you had any response to any problems made to either him or Gesisur.  They appear to lay down lots of rules and regulations about what we can and can't do but appear deaf to any complaints made by us, even if it affects the well-being of the community as a whole.  Would be interested to hear anyones views on this topic.

Hi all,

I too had no idea that any community meetings had been arranged until I received the envelope from Gesisur, pushed under the apartment door, which detailed the community charges etc.

Having received the much abbreviated English translation of the minutes, it appears that the community presidents were "Unanimously" elected. I can only assume that the builder was the main voter, since he probably owned almost all the properties when the meeting was held in August. It appears (from reading other posts) that builders often do this to get the community off their hands as soon as possible.

One thing that minutes don't seem to have discussed is the date for the next meeting. So does that mean we will not get to hear about that one till it's too late? We have already planned several visits to Las Dunas for this year, so I guess we will only be able to attend if the meeting happens to be during one of our trips.

Does anyone else agree with me that it seems ridiculous to have so many different communities for such a small development? If we were all part of the same community, there would only be one bank account to administer, one AGM, one set of minutes and one set of fees for Gesisur. Surely a much cheaper option for us owners?

Hi agree about the lack of notice on these minutes, I like you visit on a regular basis and can only attend on one of these visits.  My experience of the President has unsatisfactory.  On my visit in November last year, my neighbour downstairs (I'm on the top floor) complained of water pouring into their apartment from my bathroom.  As I was leaving for England the next morning I had no option but to leave a key with the strict instructions that they Keys are given directly to the President for safe keeping.  When I returned in February I discovered much of the electrical goods had been stolen and of course because I had given the key to someone the insurance won't pay up.  When I investigated who had the key it moved from neighbour to President to Builders all denying all knowledge of the robbery and in fact the President refused to even speak with us.  It appears we have Presidents that are never present.

I have had similar experiences of this sort of thing myself.

I now refuse to leave access keys with anyone other than Oasis properties.

They charge a small fee for looking after keys & doing monthly inspections on my apartments checking for signs of break ins leaks & other things which may prove problematic.

If anyone needs access they will (with authorisation) hand over a key to those authorised & keep records of these handovers. it's a lot harder for anyone to deny knowledge when there is written evidence!!

The guy who does this service is called rich. He can be contacted on rich@oasispropertiesaguilas.com The service i beleive is called property management?

It makes so much difference having the peace of mind that your 2nd home is being looked after so well.

Hi, we have already met Rich he was really helpful and the others I met at Palm Properties were also very nice.  Unfortunately at the time it was late in the evening and I was packing to come back to England, so obviously feeling pretty fed up, and didn't think there would be a problem.  My neighbours are Spainish and I believe trustworthy, they were as disappointed with the situation as I was, as they thought by passing keys to President it would be safe.  I guess we live and learn.
