New restaurant in Sangonera.

I don't know if many people look on this forum now but the good news is there is a new spanish restaurant opening in the old Chinese in Sangonera.  I had a brief chat with one of the ladies inside who was getting it ready for the opening (about 6 to 8 weeks) and she said it was going to have good food and Flamenco dancing, but I think she was pulling my leg about the dancing.  We had a spectacular thunder storm last night and this morning we have a perfect sky and the temperature has dropped about 5 degrees.  The last few days have been in the middle thirties which apparently is unusual for end of May early June.

We were out on 22 May for a week and met Alison & Eddie, Andrew & Barbara and Tim & Rowena. Although meetings were brief, it was nice to get to know some of our neighbours.  We were going to call to you but found out you had your daughter and son-in-law staying and did not want to intrude.

We are on the M2 No8, one of apartments raised up facing the main road down into the development.

This was our first time out and staying in our own place, and we are really pleased with the property and complex, and cannot wait to get out again in September, this seems a long time away so if we can get out earlier we will try.

We dont really know the area well but looking forward to getting to know the surrounding area, although we dont speak spanish.

We have noticed this forum is not used as often as it use to be, therefore it is nice to see a post advising of something new locally. Perhaps next time we will meet up. Take care

Hi Maria & Tony, just to let you know and the rest of you Frondosians the new restaurant in Sangonera is called "Bar Restaurant Antonia".  They have just put up the new signs replacing the chinese ones.  Also Bogavante (opposite Mercadona) as upped the anti, they have got new chairs at the back and he has put some flower boxes along the fence, (amazing what a bit of competition does) they also have a proper list for their Menu del Día and have started opening on a Sunday lunch with a Menu del Diá for 15 euros.

Hola, I was told yesterday by somebody doing some work at the new restaurant in Sangonera that it should open, either Wednesday or Thursday next week.  All we need now (assuming the food is good) is a local taxi.

We are coming over for fifteen days from the 23rd July and can,t wait, it seems a long time since we were last there. Have any more people moved in that you know of or is it still nice and quiet?

Looking forward to going fishing off the rocks in Mazarron and catching my tea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You may be able to give us your verdict on the new restaurent. I have seen taxis on the estate so i,ll make enquires when i get over for a phone number then we can all have some good nights out!

The weather here has been great for two weeks now but you can,t beat Spain for weather and surroundings.

Good to hear that some new resturants have opened in Sangonera the ones in the main town are OK for a quick lunch but thats it maybe the new one is better we do find we have to drive a lot during our visits.. we are heading out on 14th of aug till end aug.

We could do to locate some sensibly priced garden furniture everything so expensive any ideas? anyone found anything on the industrial estate ?

We are near the Officina in the town house's so if any of you guys fancy a BBQ and a bottle of red come and see us .. ps bring some garden furniture rather than a bottle!!!! only joking hopefully we will get sorted soon

We got our sunbeds and outside dining table and chairs from DFS in San Javier - they are reasonably priced and free delivery worth a visit, we got our solarium sofa and chairs from a place in Los Alcazares on the paved avenue where all the restaurants are not cheap but very pleased with  them  also he did charge extra to deliver! They do have some at Aki..  on the trading estate but not as good quality it depends what you want - there is such a big choice.  Happy shopping!!

 I have just come back from a week - it was very hot  so having the lovely pools was brilliant - unfortunately  the air conditioning (builders) wasn't working and still waiting for it to be mended -  which was a bit annoying so had to leave all the patio doors and windows open - meaning getting a few bites!! Kevin is out for a further work exploring the area on his bike - abit too hot for me for biking -  We are  out again from the 22 August for a week  hopefully the air con will be fixed for then as will be even hotter - catch up with  you then for drinks.  Regards for now   Julie and Kevin
