Hi everybody, been here 2 months and going home tomorrow for a couple of weeks to catch up with things and cash my pension cheque!! lol. This week Sangonera is celebrating fiestas for "Nuestra Señora de los Angeles". We all went down last night (the family) about half eight so we did'nt miss the "Semifinales II Campeonato de Lanzamiento de Ladrillo, Categorías Masculina y Femenina". (a brick throwing competition for men and women) The male winner threw his brick just over 20 metres, but it's not an English brick is it lads? There was plenty to see, numerous bars, food stalls, groups a disco and entertainment for the kids. There was free food, BBQ sausage, pork and something that looked like a bulls bits (very tasty though) bread a beer or soft drink for everyone, (must have been 500+ people there) not bad for a one horse town as somebody once described Sangonera on the forum. We left about 11.30pm (the grandchildren where tired) and it looked like it was just getting into full swing. It has been very hot here, as I am sure you are all aware, last Thursday it was 48 grados on our porch in the shade, thats 122 degrees in old money. The highest temperature was 44 degrees before that but the average daily temperature has been about 38 degrees. "Phew" Siestas and plenty of fluids are a necessity, especially cerveza. (Please drink responsibly) I am sure you are aware the habitation licence for M1 and M4 has arrived and we have ours. ¡Por fin!
We will be back here at the end of August (staying for another two months) hope to bump into some of you.
Hasta luego
Geoff y Pat
