It's expected to be used by 20,000 vehicles a day
The President of the Murcia Region, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, has officially opened the new Sangonera La Verde bypass, a 3.5 kilometre stretch of road which has cost 11.6 million € to build.
Starting from the El Palmar-Alcántarilla motorway at the San Ginés industrial estate, the bypass promises to reduce traffic congestion through the centre of Sangonera, and is expected to be used by some 20,000 vehicles a day. It also boasts a bicycle lane along its entire length.
The new road was funded under an agreement between the regional government and Murcia City Hall.
