Just saw this in "The Resident":-
"The Manilva Councillor for Development, Rafael Mena has announced the availability of a subsidy of up to 30,000 euros for the setting up of a restaurant in Manilva town centre.
The applicant must have the title for the property, which should have a minimum capacity of 40 covers, and the applicant should also submit business plan showing the viability and their commitment over a minimum period of five years. The restaurant should also include on their menu dishes and products typical of the local area.
The successful applicant will be selected by a jury formed by representatives of each of the local political groups, two technical advisers and two members of the local established businesses, who will judge the submissions on their economic viablility and the professional credentials of the applicant.
The money will be paid in stages with the final sum being paid on the opening of the restaurant."
I think that this is good news. The village would really benefit from a restaurant - especially one which can serve local dishes.
