Local medical centres and hospitals

I have a 20 year old relative visiting soon who is an insulan dependant diabetic. Obviously he will have all his medication with him but sometimes hot weather can affect this condition. Does anyone have information on the nearest emergancy medical facilities  ie. medical centres or hospitals that they can pass on to me. I am sure everything will be fine but I would rather be prepared. Any info much appreciated.

We come under Alhama de Murcia and there is a medical centre in the town. Little English spoken.  Dial 112 for an ambulance and keep phone on as they lock into it to find location. Emergency hospital 30 mins away.   Keep passport and EHIC card with you at all times Mazarron town has a medical centre that is used to dealing with English speakers as Camposol comes under Mazarron, I know people use EHIC card and go there. Local Phamacies very helpful, bring boxes of the drugs you use with you as often you can buy over the counter.

Is'nt there a medical centre opening in camposol soon?

The latest news is that the new medical centre on Camposol is due to open in Autumn 2010.  This will provide facilities for Camposol and surrounding areas and will be the nearest centre for Condado.  It has recently been furnished.  It has been funded  by the region of Murcia and PALS (local charity I think based on Camposol) has also allocated 20,000 Euros from their funds to help establish the centre.

PALS (Protection and LIfe Saving) is a fantastic charity which has fundraised over the last 10 years providing over 176,000 Euros to the local community.  Residents on Camposol are extremely proud of this charity and other associations established and supported over the years mainly through the large community on Camposol.  Some people on this forum are quick to put down Camposol but Condado will have to go a long way before it makes a difference to the community.
