New Friends

Hi everyone

I am on La Isla and am coming over 12th July with my sons aged 18 and 14 for a week. We were over at Easter and it was very quiet, sometimes it felt we had the whole place to ourselves!! As the town centre has nothing there for the boys and nowhere for them to meet other people of a similiar age, I was wondering if there was anything else in the other areas of the resort that they could join in and meet new friends. They are both very sociable, love sport and it would be great if they could see that there is life about the place. I love the area and am hopeful that in time we will get some of what we were promised but as anyone with children will know, they like to be occupied and on the go at all times!!

We are also on La Isla block 3 and are coming out with our girls 17 & 14 on the 12th July for 9 days.What block are you on?There is a couple of football pitches next to Al Kasar and in Camposol B there is a bowling alley with games and internet i think its called Alley Palley it is left of the chinese restuarant.There is also a diving club in Mazarron at the marina that has half days and training from 12 years upwards. We are in Condado from June 30th to August 14th with our kids girls aged 14 & 12 and a boy aged 10 in  Jardin 3   hopefully we can get the kids together at some point so they don't get too bored  . My 3 love soccer, swimming , snorkelling and are bringing their bikes with them too. Hope to see you both with your families at some point this summer?

Hi Janet,

Coming over on the 14th July with 16 and 8 year old girls, there is a snooker table and dart board in the clover for the teenagers but the younger ones seem to like rounding round the large pool outside.  I know before I come that my sixteen year old will be bored but i will not be taking her anywhere near Camposol.  Sorry to say the girls hanging about the town centre there look more like hookers from the local rugby team and the boys with there cans in hand look ready to knife you at any moment, so as far as i am concerned she can be bored all she likes. If you don't mind travelling there is a good ten pin bowling alley  in Totana or Lorca, the one in Lorca has food outlets close at hand and there are amusements for the younger kids aswell. There should be a few festivals going on and if you log on too Simply Networking you will find out whats on in the local area when you visit.

Thanks for the tips. Looks encouraging that there will be a good few teenagers about when we are there. I know my boys are at their happiest in a group of friends and if they are enjoying themselves it makes life a whole lot easier!!

We shall be over for the whole of August, and a couple of weeks in July. Sophie is 14 and Alex is 3 so if anyone wants to take them off our hands for a hour or two, we shall be more than happy!!

We are over 9th July  til Sunday 18th we are fetching our two lads over 23 & 25 years big kids at heart so they will be hanging around the pool and football pitches. Hope to meet up with you all.

We'll also be out from July 3rd with our 16 and 18 yr old boys and the older son's girlfriend, We completed Feb 09 and have made good use of the apartment, making many friends along the way.

There is a great sense of community and now when we visit and meet up with old friends, it does really feel like coming home.
