spindle for door handle

Hi folks i remember a while back a discusion on door handles where you can replace the spindle so you can turn the handle and do not get locked out, i need the length and cuts if anyone remebers, thanks gary

The spindle needs to be 135mm long 8mm square and have  20mm cuts down the length of the spindle but in opposite directions .

We bought the 8mm at home, cut it  and brought out to Spain but it too big for the job.  We are in the Jardines so maybe these measurements were taken from Narnjos or penthouses?

The 8mm spindle will fit with a bit of fine adjustment !

You need to buy a file from the hardware store on Camposol and get a bit of elbow grease going.

After a bit of hard work it will fit.

We bought a key safe and put near the front door which means no to being locked out.
