Colour of stain for timber

can anybody tell me what is the colour of the stain, used on the timber beams etc., around our apartments & where to buy it, I have a gate I want to colour the same.

Afternoon, sorry I cant tell you what the colour is called, but if you nip into Bricolage at Camposol they have it there as I brought some last week when I did the flaking timber beams on our terrace  - the closest colour name I coudl give you would be "redwood"

It depends on whether you are applying to the current colour or untreated wood.

Some gardens are different to others. 1-8 are different to 9-13.  I used 'roble 920' but it did turn the original colour slightly darker.

The paint shop next to Consum have all that you need and are slightly cheaper than all the other general DIY stores and will give you the advice you may need.  You could consider 'clear' if you don't need to colour the wood.

Glad that someone has brought this up as i was going to do our wood when we are over next. Can you tell me the make and type of the paint as i noticed that the apartment next to mine had redone theirs but it was all peeling off the last time i was over, and i dont want that to happen. I take it that it needs to be sanded down first ?

The shade I used was 'roble 920', I can't remember the manufacturers name but the paint shop will be able to advise you.

Mine didn't need sanding as it wasn't too bad but I guess if it was left for another year or two that may be the case.  One coat was required on the sides that haven't been battered by the sun, otherwise I applied two coats to the front and top of the beams.

The tins came in two sizes 700cl and 5L, I used two and a quarter 700cl sized tins on my upstairs apartment which included the gate.
