Tez,
Nothing wrong with the directions already posted, here are more of the same, but with a few more reference points to make sure you're on the right track. We've used these several times, at all times of day & night (as have various family members) with no problems.
Turn right out of the car hire car park; at the junction (which won’t be far away) turn immediate left, this will put you on the correct road, follow the signs for E15/A70 Almeria/Vera/Granada; after approx 2K the road will bend quite hard to the right again signposted as above, this will put you onto the A7. The road will signposted Murcia/Almeria/Granada/Vera (remember, if in doubt just follow signs for Almeria/Vera as they are way past where you need to be).
Continue towards Murcia, should take approx 30 mins. Stay on the motorway and as you come in to Murcia continue to follow the signs for Almeria/Granada. You will start to pick up signs for A30 Murcia/Cartegna – DO NOT follow these, continue to follow signs for Almeria/Granada; to make it easier stay in the right-hand lane if possible. As the roads start to section off A30 & A7, there will be a motorway sign for the A7 with a yellow Arabic sign with a picture of a ship on it, for the port, shortly after this the A7 bends to the right. It will look like you’re coming off the A7, as you join what looks like another motorway, don’t worry; it is still the A7 & is still signposted Almeria/Vera/Granada.Continue on the motorway & the next town signed is Alcantarilla; after this you will pick up signs for Alhama de Murcia. As you near Alhama de Murcia look for Junction 627 (approx 20 mins away from Murcia) which is 1K after a big sign that says ‘El Pozo’ (it is a big factory on your right).
Get into the Right lane for the exit 627; it splits in to 627A & 627B. (The first turn off (627A) is for Alhama de Murcia). Take the 627B exit which is immediately after 627A (it is a very sharp right hand bend) – signed ‘Bahia de Mazarron’, ‘Mazarron’ & Cartegena’. At Junction 627B you merge with the RM2.
Take the second exit which is junction 4 (it goes from Junction 1 straight to Junction 4 – missing out 2&3) for Mazarron. You will come to a roundabout & take the 1st exit for the RM23 Mazarron & Puerto de Mazarron.
CDA will be signposted 3 miles along this motorway; it has its own junction, J7; you will see, in the distance, on your left as you drive up the RM23 a long line of palm trees, these line the road that approaches the main entrance. Come off the motorway, to the roundabout/flyover, take the 2nd main exit (there are several service roads off this roundabout, but you will see the main exits are signposted) to the resort entrance; as you drive up the tree lined road there will be a huge sculpture on the roundabout in front of you with the name of the resort on it. The whole journey should take approx 65 mins depending on traffic.
Hope these help - happy driving.
