Hi - Can anyone tell me the best place to hire golf clubs  ? Does anyone know how much the pro shop charge ? Many thanks  Cat.

Can anyone advise on the best golf courses around Mar Menor for beginners. We have French guests arriving shortly who plan on playing Roda Golf but ask if there are any other suggestions of courses suitable for a beginner in their crowd. They also ask if there are minimum handicaps to play these courses?

Also, does anyone know of any decent seafood or fish restuarant in the area?

I'm not a golfer so can't advise on the courses, but I believe Roblemar is one of the better seafood restaurants around. It's down in the "Oasis" centre...also known as "The arches" I think... very near Roda...they have a very impressive display of seafood that you can choose from and they cook it fresh for you....  telephone 968 582 727. 

I would also highly recommend La Encarnacion, in Los Alcazares...tel 968 575 048. Lovely setting (right on the Mar Menor), beautiful food and great service.

They're both "fine dining" rather than cheap'n'cheerful...but lovely for a special night out.

The restaurant in the Club house also does some fabulous fish dishes from Lobster salad, scallops from North of Spain, fresh fish every day on the golfer's menu as well. Lobster salad is fantastic value at less than 20 euro and the scallops are the best I have ever eaten so highly recommended.
