I´ve had quite a few people ask for insurance quotes for cars that they plan to leave here rather than pay car hire prices. These are the sort of costs you need to include in your calculation to determine if it is more cost affective to buy vs hire

Car Tax... depends on the engine size from 60€ if Spanish Reg Vehicle
Unless you are planning to spend a lot of time here, I doubt you would break even the first or even second year..... but there after .. maybe.
