Hi has anyone used Auriga Crown car rental from Murcia Airport? What is their fuel policy? Don't want to be lumbered with excessive charges!
Many thanks

As far as I can remember (I've only used them once) you take the car back full. We prefer Centauro which gives you a full tank when you pick the car up and you take it back empty

Hi Debzzie,
i think it works out cheaper to do a full-full on the fuel if possible as the rental companies charge a higher price for the fuel, so cheaper to refill yourself and save a few euros

Hi Beau Brummie, not rented a car here before so not too sure of the procedure, so from what you say I can have a hire car plus full tank and return same without incurring their silly over inflated prices? or pay and return empty? And Auriga offers this service?
Thanks

Hi Debzzie,
The rental companies seem to change their policys on a regular basis you just have to ask if this option is available, they don't like it because its another little money earner for them. Also we booked a small car ( Fiesta or similar) recently with Europcar and were told at the desk they only had a Fiat Panda available, they offered an upgrade to a larger car for another 6€ per day, we refused and reluctantly settled for the Panda. After recieving the keys we spent the next 10-15 minutes looking for the car in question in the Europcar parking bays, there wasn't one, we checked the keys and found they were for a much larger Hyundai i30, they were just trying it on for 12 days x 6€

We have used Auriga Crown a number of times (through Doyouspain) and have always been very pleased
As we are now on their database, they seem to offer us good deals on free upgrades, full/full etc.
We always prefer full/full and use the petrol station next to the Polaris Garden Centre on the way back to the airport to fill up. The issue with returning empty is that you are never going to take the risk of running the car down to the last litre (even though that is what you have paid over the odds for).
Invariably they will always get cars returned with a bit of fuel left in and make a tidy profit when they charge the next customer for a full tank and have only had to put 3/4 in

Thanks Waddle, glad to hear that you were pleased with Auriga. Reason I chose them was because they were around 50 Euros cheaper than any of the others! I am staying for nearly the whole of October so wanted a reasonable rate. And also now they offer full-full service sounds even better.!
Thanks also for pointing out where the best place to fill up on way back.
