Garden low-level lighting

Hi folks,

We have just got back from a fantastic week at CdA and I just wanted to mention something that's been puzzling me for well over a year. Other people must have seen the numerous broken 'low-level' path lights around the gardens, well I had been wondering what could be the cause of these path lights being sheared off at thier bases because they seem to be fairly substantial units.

Anyone else guess what the cause might be?

I was looking over my balcony into Garden 11 one morning last week and saw the gardeners doing thier stuff when the guy driving the motorised lawn-mower clipped not one, but two of the lights, shearing them off at the base..........BINGO!

I'm not sure if the gardeners report it, or we do. I'm not even sure who pays for the damaged lights to be replaced but I definately think it's something that needs addressing.

Any thoughts?

This subject has been discused before & it was the gardeners last time that were seen to be doing the damage

I am presuming that in the end  we as owners contribute to the payment to replace these lights

As nothing has been mentioned for some time now I had presumed that the problem had been sorted out

Surely this is some thing the our communiity representatives need to address very promptly.

It is evident that the gardeners have no sence of responcibility as the problem would not still be occuring

Welshwizard it is your responsibility to report this if you witness it to the administrator, Gardeners have been blamed before and denied it, saying its children on bycycles.

We pay for these and they are very expensive.

They are also very easily broken being made of cast.

They can also be broken by people sitting on them.

If you can report this then hopefully we can get the gardeners to pay for at least two of them?

I was genuinely not aware this subject had been mentioned before, sorry to be going over old ground folks.

I shall submit my report to the administrator toot-sweet. (I know that's the wrong spelling, trying to be funny).

Mick, as I am a professional electrician I can assure you I have fitted many garden lights substantially less robust than these little fellows. I'm not looking for an argument my friend, I just guess your definition of 'very easily broken' slightly differs from mine. You should see some of the cheap rubbish City Electrical Factors sell.

I will be keeping a beady eye out in the future when I see those pesky gardeners.
