Non residents tax 2009

Can anybody enlighten me about why my solicitor is asking me for €120 to pay a €73 non residents tax bill and if there is a way not to pay via a solicitor? Thanks. Geoff. 

Solicitors fees for completing the return are always excessive.  There are people (see previous postings about this) who will complete the return for you for less than £30 or you can actually do it yourself.

'Lindaw164' beat me to it but is spot on.  (My solicitor  had also quoted me 120 euros.)

Try the girls at Costa Calida services on Camposol Commercial Centre ´A´. They charge €60 per person, but €90 per couple for a joint return. Tel : 968 199 251

Our Solicitors charged 70 euro plus tax this year, which was slightly less than they charged us last year. They dealt with everything, completely hassle free. PM me if you want their details for a quote.

Take a copy of your N.I.E. number and your bank details to the tax office on Calle De Domingo in Lorca.We went by train and it cost Euros 4.80 return p.p. We paid Euro 1.50 for the non-resident tax form.The more names you have on your deeds the more forms you have to buy. The forms are called Modelo 210. They completed all the forms for me.I then took these forms to my bank and set up a direct debit to pay this tax every year. If i remember correctly. Once i set up the direct debit.i had to go back to the tax office in Lorca and give them the completed direct debit form.

Its a bit of travelling but saves you lots of money.Hope this helps.

My question is : did they "sticked"  stickers  with you datas  on this form ?

If not, you don't need , you have not to go to a hacienda's office.

Regarding Non Residence tax. When we went to the tax office in Lorca.They gave us a sheet of stickers that we have to use when we are corresponding with them. We gave some of the stickers to the bank to use when they do our direct debits each year.

We used Spanish Tax forms, they are based in the UK and their service is excellent.

They charge £20 per address to do up the tax forms - www.spanishtaxforms.co.uk.  If you have already registered with Spanish Tax Office they can do the whole lot for you, otherwise you can either pay them a bit extra to obtain your "stickers", or else they will send you the completed tax returns and you can go to either the Tax Offices in Lorca or Cartagena, thats what I intend to do as over end of October.

Very quick and efficient service and sent me instructions to do the "stickers" bit myself - would really recommend them

To "happy buyer" : why to pay £20 ( or more) if you  can do the job yourself ?
