If you already have some quotes why do you need to post for more. Most villas will be able to rent their properties for the summer so I should just go with what you have or a least give the price you are after!!
As a roda owner I feel we should all keep our rentals competative but there is a limit we should all not go below if we want roda to remain a higher end resort.
What do you other owners think??

Totally agree. Her attitude and approach is all wrong! This lady will be lucky to get a villa in June/July never mind thinking she's going to get it for a bargain price and that she's going to have villa owners desperately chasing her custom! If she can't afford the going rate then maybe she should consider looking for something else!No harm in looking for best price but no villa owner is going to ''give away'' their property at a rock bottom price in June/July!You could rent a detached 3 bed villa out ten times over that time of year at a minimum of 850 to 1000 euros.

what lovely people. your so welcoming. you must be very privilged. NOT. this is a warning to anyone who wants to rent or buy here. its full of stuck up individuals.ps. i would happy pay the full price thats being asked if the site was completed but since it only has a shop the size of a phonebox and big building site hole in the middle of it i can think of better places to stay. must put this on trip advisor.

While I agree with Sandra,Kim and Cat, I also dont blame Ciana or any other holiday maker at Roda wanting to get the best deal possible its human nature.
What I cannot understand is how some owners are making it pay by renting their apartments out for such silly prices surely its false economy, I have actually raised our prices slightly this year beacuse having done the maths its seems better to have our apartment empty than to pay extra on electric/gas/wear and tear etc than to rent out for such small amounts.

Hi ciana.you may note that i said in my post that there's no harm in looking for the best price but seriously that is the going rate despite the hole in the ground.if I had what you are looking for i think you would find im always ready to negotiate my prices.however the reality is roda is very popular that time of year.im actually full for pretty much all of next summer.although roda may have limited onsite facilities it has many other advantages over other resorts in the area like proximity to airport, beach and los alcazares.the other thing is there are not that many villas for rent on roda and so they can expect high demand and command high prices.a villa on all the resorts in the area are around that price.good luck in your search wherever you decide to holiday but i still believe you are going to have to pay around those prices.perhaps if you leave your search until closer to those dates you might grab a bargain but in my opinion villa owners are not going to come in with low prices at this time.im guessing you have stayed at roda before as you seem to know the resort and were looking to come back again so it can't be all bad!p.s. I too would sooner spend an extra few weeks enjoying my property than renting it out for a rock bottom price as ive put a lot of thought, time and money into my propery.like was said the cost of wear and tear to items you chose for your home away from home is simply not worth it.just my opinion not looking for an argument!

Peoples,
I honestly can't believe how nieve you all are. Think about what you are doing to your beautiful resort.
Take the time to Google or Yahoo Roda Golf and see what you come up with. You will be so very dissapointed in yourselves as your constant running down of the resort features VERY highly with the search engines. You are systematically ruining your own interests.
Be smart, think outside the box. Allow people like ciana the grace to search for what she wants, which is after all the same as what we all want, a bargain. We all do it every day, some of us even buy dodgy DVD's from the nice Chinese girl in the square in LA, the difference is, posting about it doesn't ruin a lovely resort, albeit slow in being completed.
A few words of advice from a wise one;
- Think twice about putting fingers to keyboards
- Avoid posting replies to frustrating comments made by other inept EOS users
- Move away from the PC, have a drink and review the thread in the morning, it will look so different then
- If all else fails, have a beer (or wine) and kick back, the result will be the same
Please peoples, refrain from the self destruct voyage that so many of you seem to be on. If you don't believe me, as I said above google or yahoo Roda Golf and see what comes up first (apart from the lying estate agents that are long gone of course!!!)

With respect simples innit the only person who talked down the resort was ciana.the others obviously found what she was willing to pay for their properties unreasonable.infact rather than talking their resort down they believe in it enough to refuse customers who are unwilling to pay the rate they know they can easily achieve.just as much as ciana has the right to try get a good deal so too have they the right to refuse her custom and wait for a customer willing to pay a reasonable price without being threatened with having their resort tarnished with negative comments by someone with unreasonable expectations of her own.if it was just a regular discussion about prices and renting property im sure it would not have got this reaction!

this is my last reply on this. first of all harry the others do not know what i was willing to pay.(none have villas that im aware of). secondly i was verbally attacked for daring to try and achieve a reasonable price. the 'others' didnt refused my custom as they did not have what i wanted in the first place. if your going to comment on it harry make sure you know what your talking about.

Hi Ciana I think you took my comments as a personal attack of some sort which they were not meant as .My initial post was in response to hevs and I was simply stating my experience of the rental market in Roda in those months for villas.I still believe in what I said that villa owners find it very easy to rent out their properties in those months.I simply felt your tactics would not work in relation to trying to rent out a villa in those months not that you were wrong in trying to get a best price and like I said I always negotiate prices with customers but I do believe everyone has a cut off point where they will not drop below which is what I think was concerning hevs.Very few customers pay what we ask for and there is always room for negotiation .I'd be interested in hearing what your best price was and I'm guessing I wasn't far off in my estimation if you were looking for a 3 bed detached villa with pool! Was I close at 800 -1000 euros a week for June/July?I'm guessing many came back with a higher price!!!

No worries ciana.Firstly I was responding to simples innit and his/her post accusing the others of talking down Roda in some way when in my opinion they were trying to do the opposite. You can't deny it was you who made the negative comments about Roda.Sorry you feel that way but I think hevs was trying to bring up a different issue which the others were responding to.I think they have a reasonable point that prices can't realistically drop below a certain point because as RD points out there are a lot of costs renters don't realise like gas, electricity, aircon, water, gardeners, pool cleaners, property managers, replacing broken items,......(the list goes on) and they have to cover themselves to make it worthwhile.Like yourself I don't want to get into it any further than that.
Good luck in finding a suitable property.

26 August 2010:
hi everyone.
i would like to inform everyone of my experience with euronics in los alcazares. my fridge/ freezer packed in four weeks ago, however it was still in warranty. after many visits to the shop where i was told someone would be out to fix it, i decided to contact the manufacture who told me it should have been fixed within 48 hours however they had not been informed by the supplier and couldnt do anything until he did.four weeks without a fridge/freezer in this heat is totally unacceptabe. maybe they wanted me to buy a new one or its that their service is really bad, i dont know. just be warned.
Just found this forum post made by ciana on our forum. This is from a lady who wanted to rent a villa on our development and report our hole in the ground to trip advisor and would be taking her buisness elsewhere!!!How much did Ryamair charge you for bringing home your dodgy fridge freezer or did you leave it behind for the next time you rent out in Roda?Funny how the truth always comes out.Maybe this explains why you have a problem paying the going rate!
