i understand this resident and non-resident debate re fees and i can see both sides, but for non-residents, the monthly fees have crept up and up to a point where it's become excessive for a few weeks use per year. But the main reason for non payment has been emphasised by bluesweep below - it doesnt guarantee you utilities...you'd have to be pretty silly to pay such an amount only to get out there and sit in the dark. Anyone would feel the same if they were in this position. Confidence levels in the Committee on setting sensible amounts and, more importantly, making progress with SJ, has been lost.
Conversely, i get it that it's not nice for residents to have to sit in the dark either because the money has run dry, or stare at filthy broken pools, but come on guys, SJ are pulling a fast one here. We need to break this stalemate by someone making a decision about SJ, who are enjoying this in-fighting - but no-one's putting pressure on them in the right way.
And pressure simply cant be exerted by a non-resident, whose only 'error' seems to be that they have made the lucky/sensible decision to only visit an incomplete and illegal complex occasionally, and not reside there. It seems to be purely (and understandably) bitterness and anger at their own predicament, not rational sense, coming from residents on this whole debate. And any 'underhand' activities will simply drive a bigger wedge between the two sides, and residents will suffer most anyway.
