we have started to use this company,  so far, with brilliant success.   They do seem to be cheaper than most of the others  and are easy to contact.

Try www.doyouspain.com I have used them for several years now and they are good. (just reject the car if they allocate you Goldcar though as they are pants.  If you do this they will offer you another co anyway).  They scan many car hire co's fro the cheapest.  I am only paying £6.40 per day for Easter car hire (5 door/5 seater) through them and that's fully comp.  Arlene

Have a look at F+C car hire. They have offices in Alicante, Murcia and 1 in Campasol.

The cars arent the newest, but the prices are always competative.

I compared them for next Summer, Whit and Easter, and they were the cheapest for Summer and Whit. Only Doyou were cheaper at Easter

Best to use Doyouspain.

F+C are cheap but the cars are in poor condition. Also, we booked in Feb last year for a car in July and one week before we were due to fly they cancelled the booking but said we could have a different car (for about 150 euros more!). Wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Hi do not use FAST CAR HIRE as they take the money off you when you book and then you have to pay the allocated car hire company on arrival at the airport or you have no car. FAST CAR HIRE take your money via PAYPAL and then do not pay the car hire company.  They still owe me £743 from last July and will not refund the money, a very expensive car hire!!!.  They appear to be a SCAM organisation with an illegal website.  They are currently being investigated by Trading Standards.  They come up on compare sites, please do not be fooled as I was.

Always use Economy Car Hire and usually end up going with Centauro.  Although we've only had the car we booked once we usually end up with a much bigger car at no extra cost.  When the British airports were closed by snow in December we were allowed to hang on to the car for another 3 hours until we knew what was happening - again at no extra cost!  With Centauro you pick the car up full and return it empty.

We've been using car hire companies for nearly 3 years now and haven't found one consistently cheap company.  We find that one car hire company can be cheap at Easter but expensive in the summer, it is  just a matter of shopping about when you are ready to book to find the cheapest company at that time.

I have found that checking the companies that you usually use to get a price and then a follow-up on travelsupermarket.com or the likes usually results in you seeing the best price for the same car in one or the other, but never consistently the same as Ali says.

I think the three bookings I have made just last week for this year (Easter/summer/autumn) are pretty good prices compared to last year. You never quite know what the tank of fuel is going to cost but I always go for an annual insurance policy so we have a handle that particular 'money earner'.

Has anyone tried to set up a regular contract with one hire company and negotiating rates for regular custom? Just wondered if that works as a cost effective option.

Atlas Choice seem to be pretty cheap,  ford fiesta £204 for 2 weeks in sept is best i can do at the moment
