TV packages

 Hi All,

We are looking at TV packages Polaris included and just wondered how the Polaris package is working out. Does it work regualry? or just every now and again.

We have stayed on Terrazas before completing on our property so we have experienced the not working for a day scenario.

If not Polaris can anyone recommend another package?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

 I have had the Polaris TV package on Phase 1 at Terrazas for nearly 2 years. There have been a couple of "fall-outs" under extreme weather and the occasional loss of single  programme channels but on the whole it has been fine. So I would say go ahead - no problem.

I agree with Nicw -

I have a property on phase 1 and also have the Polaris TV package. There have been a couple of occasions of no signal, again due to bad weather or the very rare power-cut :-) - On the whole, I have been very satisfied with Polaris's TV service.

Can one of the residents on TDLDT give some idea of what english channels are provided by the Polaris TV package?

Can you advise what the charge is for the Polaris TV package - both initial set up charge and then presumably a monthly charge....

The TV package requires the box and installation. No monthly amount.

Internet costs 37€ per month incl. VAT.

 Don't buy the PW box if you just want the standard channels, you can get a box for half the price elsewhere.

We had Polaris TV installed at Christmas, just been out and it was all fine. Not really enough stations if you are used to Sky at home :-? but basically fine, take DVDs!!

 i have a few of the receivers polaris world use for sale, all brand new, not the cheap imitation type but the exact same as you would get from polaris but at a fraction of the price, branded wisi or51 combo. 

 channel 4 and 5 are available, they just haven't put them in order ie bbc1 bbc2 itv1 channel4 and five.... they are mixed in with the french channels at the end of the listings.

Can you advise:

what the box and installation cost is

that there is no monthly charge

who to contact to arrange installation

We purchased a WISI box but not from Polaris.

We can only get Spanish channels, 46 of them,

Is this because we are on phase 2 and the signal has not been switched  on or do we need a  Polaris package to get uk telly?

 the wisi box is the polaris plus package, they just haven't turned on the cable signal in that phase just terrestrial, only phase 1 has both running at the moment. try re-scanning the box every now and again and make sure the scan is set to dvb-c & dvb-t.

I was hoping that was the case. I have Scanned DVB-C & T but will try again next time we are out.

We were over at the begining of March had the tv package installed by Polaris Telecome and recieved all the english channels no problem we are also on phase 2/12 block 291
