Can anyone tell me if the wifi is working yet throughout the urb and if there are any charges

No wifi on the resort yet.

There is free wifi access in the clubhouse and also at the Academy and the Spaniard Inn.

 Don't know how you get your TV  up there but if you use Torresat they do a good telephone/internet which we use and have not had any problems with. Before that we used a dongle which was also very good and you can use them any where you have a phone signal

Just to let you know Telefonica installed a line and wifi in my apartment on The Oasis (El Oasis) for me last year.

Works great and quicker than at home in the uk.

Do you all rember that we were promised WI FI throughout the resort so we could even use it in our gardens.

I still have the leaflet from 2003 promising wi fi,a beach club,and hotel opening at the end of 2004.

I was talking with one of my colleagues who works in the IT dept of the Health Board that I work for and he was telling me that before starting work in the Health Board he worked for a large telecomms company who installed the comms including wifi in the Mar Menor (strip) when that job was complete the company moved to La Torre and then to Hacienda. The last time I was in Hacienda he had given me the "engineers" passwords to try but unfortunately they didn't work so I can only assume that the wifi network has been installed but not activated.

Free Wifi is available on the resort at the Spaniard Inn and the Golf Club.

If you dont need it in your apartment or villa, buy yourself a spanish dongle.

Could you explain what is a spanish dongle and where we can buy it ?

You can buy a Spanish dongle in the big electrical store in Fuente high street.It sells mobile phones and sim cards,it is at the start of the high st on the bend of the road.I can't remember it's name.The dongle would  probably  be on a pre pay and you would be able to get the internet.
