The developer of any complex and subsequently the formed community will always have a block insurance policy, which covers the construction and all communals areas.
You as an individual owner have to take out content insurance for your apartment, which should always include a degree of public liability ( to cover for situations where a delivery man, or guest may slip and fall, and also in the event that a leak from your property causes damage to any adjacent property).
There are varying degress of individual cover you can take out - always ensuring that you have allowed for all contents - furniture and fittings ( which also include kitchen units & electricalappliances) - but it might be wise - until we are able to see a copy of the insurance policy the community has - to make sure that you have adequate cover, even if at a later date you dedcide to reduce it, once we have established how good or not!! the community policy is.
There are many excellent insurance companies in the area - who would be delighted to give you a quote.
Please mail me if you would like to have their contact details
