Hi steveandrosa

Presumably you are asking what percentage of your worldly wealth is charged under the Spanish “Wealth Tax"?
As everyone’s wealth is different everyone’s tax liability is different. Not sure how much it is but it is peanuts … that is until you die when the Hacienda will know exactly how much to charge on Death Duties which are considerably higher!!
Always best to declare everything including any accounts on the Isle of Man (for example) – governments throughout Europe are so desperately short of cash that they are now exchanging information on “hidden bank accounts”.
Wealth is not just cash and property - but also (in theory) includes jewelry etc - but our accountant has not (yet) asked us to list EVERYTHING we own.

We have had a wood burner for six years and would (pun) not be without it!
Try and buy one made out of cast iron rather than sheet steel.  The cast ones are more expensive but they last for ever and reflect more heat for longer.  Steel ones are cheaper but do not (always) last long.
Expect to pay around 100 euros a tonne for wood – olive, almond, orange/lemon tree wood is best.
Pine burns quicker and is not as hot.

We use just over 1 tonne of logs a year to keep our house warm and snug (for six months during the winter).
Compared with electric/gas the thermal heating value of a wood burner is better.

Hi everyone

We too have been toying with the idea of installing a wood burner.

Has anyone put a burner in an albatross?

If so, which location did you put the burner as I think the options are limited.

See you all very soon

Nigel & Stella

Hi Nigel & Stella

What, or who, is an "albatross".

If you mean the bird the Spanish equivalent of the RSPCA may be able to advise you ....  and as you say "the location options" will be limited.

Dear all

Thanks for your replies

Regards the wood burner position in the albatross we live in that model and are considering putting it on the wall where the TV point is

We would look to offset the flue and come out next to the large solarium window on the solarium

I understand someone on site has a large core drill which will drill the hole required for the flue very neatly, you can then fit a stainless steel flue or build a brick/ block flue on the solarium.

I understand some in the Albatross have positioned the fire on the opposite wall to the TV point but this would mean you would have you back onto the TV or to the wood burner. Its in that position in the show house if you wanted to look

Regards wealth taxes we do not live in Spain but we paid around 380 euros last year for myself and Rosa in wealth tax

Thanks

Steve& Rosa
