 Nope,  you need to show the  property deeds, NIE and passport and that's it.

I think you also need to obtain a Padron otherwise how will car tax be paid on the car?

To get this you should be in spain for 6 months a year?

I have just purchased a used vehicle and I had to supply my padron details to the garage, although I dont think it is essential that you are in residance for 6 months, you would register onto the padron at Alhama Council offices, this also entitles you to vote in the local elections, and also provides revenue from the europian  Parliment for health care/social care in the Murcia province

You dont need a padron, i bought a car at xmas dealer ask if i had one but  it was not a problem. im going to get one at easter 4 euro each. And you do not have to live in spain to get one, you just have to own a property,

As I stated below Car tax is collected via the Town Hall and for this you need a Padron.

Yes you can buy a car without the Padron and it may be taxed when you buy it for a period.

If you have a car and no Padron then you could be driving without Tax.

I have discussed the issue of Padron' s with the Mayor of Alhama and our Admisistration, and the Mayor stated they will only be issued to people who spend 6 months a year in the area. (His words) (how this is proved or checked is another matter) This came about when car hire prices made it viable to own one, but people at Condado were being refused Padrons by Alhama Town Hall.

Some councile will give you one without question.

At the end of the day if you can get the Padron then good if not you risk Prosecution for Driving without Tax.
