They have a very relaxed attitude to handicaps at Almerimar. To my knowledge they have never asked anyone for a handicap certificate.
There are 27 holes. An 18 hole Master Course originally designed by Gary Player, built in the 70s and modernised in the early 2000s. Plus an easier 9 hole Classic course that was built much more recently.
The Master course is not always in tip top condition but is always fun to play. The Classic is easier and more suited to beginners and people who want a little less of a challenge.
The walk in off the street price is quite high at around 67-68 euros for 18 holes on the Master course in the high season (Oct to May I think) and a lower price, I think around 45 euros in the low season (June to Sept I think).
There are various ways of reducing this price if you want to play regularly (e.g. buy 7 rounds at a discount, or buy an annual package of 30, 50, 100, 150 or 200 tickets with increasing discount the more tickets you buy).
An alternative way of reducing the price of playing here if you only play occasionally is to join the newly formed Friday Golf Society. The society has negotiated a deal where members who have not bought tickets at Almerimar can play for 35 euros a round. Also hire of buggies is 20 euros a round rather than the normal price of 30 euros. Annual membership of FGS is 20 euros a year.
If you have any more queries about golf here please do not hesitate to ask.
