Hi everyone.  It seems ages since we were last in Spain, so we are really looking forward to our visit in a couple of weeks time.  We have heard that quite a bit has happened in our absense, including the Wok  and the Internet Cafe moving from the Consum Centre and that the pool is now blue!  We are sorry that the Wok and the Internet Cafe are no longer there as we used both on a regular basis.  As for the 'blue pool', well we are intrigued, but no doubt all will be revealed.

Hi Pauline and Noel, we agree it is such a shame that the Wok is gone and also the internet cafe. The Wok was one of Ciaran's favourite places and loved to go down with the boys for a 'big feed'. The internet cafe was so handy for printing off boarding passes and catching up with emails while we were there for more than a couple of weeks. Such a shame that big building is there with nothing but the consum in it.

The blue pool!! Takes a bit of getting used to, but if it works we wont complain. I am going to try upload a couple of photos so you can have a look. The photos are a bit dull so pool is actually brighter than it looks in photos.

Hope you enjoy your stay, and looking forward to catching up with you in July.

Tricia, Anto and Ciaran

The Wok has only moved just up the road to Puerto Rey & they offer a pick up & drop off service, if your party is a minimum of 6 (I think 6 is right)

The closing of the internet cafe is a pain as it coincided with the WiFi in La Pepparina also no longer being available.

I had an internet connection installed in my apartment at Easter through a company in Turre. It was €100 installation & then €26.95 per month but you can get it switched off while you are not there & only pay €2.95 when it is switched off. A great addition if you have renters.

Regards

Noreen

Thanks for that Noreen, we will definetly use the Woks pick up and drop off service, do you have details? I bought a vodafone mobile dongle last year and works well for the duration of the Summer, my only prob would be printing of boarding passes, so would still have to access an internet cafe.

Hola!

That's great to hear about the possibility of a pick-up for the Wok, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to round up 6 people to go there together.  We enjoyed our stay at the end of May and the weather was kind to us.  Just a bit overcast and drizzly on the day were were headed home so we didn't mind too much.

I will out again at the end of July, so am looking forward to catching up with everyone then.

In October we plan to drive down from Santander again.  We have done this twice now, travelling via Avila where we have had an overnight stop.  It is a lovely town and well worth a visit.  But this year we thought we might have a change and travel down to the East of Madrid rather that on the West side.  Anyone got any recommendations re. the best route (Don't want to go into Madrid) and possible places to stay for one night, about half way?

Pauline & Noel
