TV problems

I've just arrived this evening and all tvs are reporting 'No signal'. I have tried re-inserting the aerial cable, switching off/on and finaly re-tuning for dtv/atv and atv on its own. Both times  I can find no ATV channels.

Teleast were out of office hours but I will phone them in the morning. Meanwhile, does anyone have any ideas?

Morning,

Just been over to Roda and discovered we have lost the few British channels we used to receive on our TV. Tried to reset but got nothing but Spanish channels. Can anyone help or advise please.........

I received a phone call on Tuesday from a friend staying in an adjacent block to say that the TV stations were missing again. She said that the technicians were waiting for a part and that the channels had been missing for a few days by then.

I would believe this except that this is what I was told in May when I was over. There was a general problem with the Roda reception and they thought my problem was connected. I kept phoning them (Teleast) and they came around, asked for my key to the garage, and eventually fixed the reception but only temporarily. They said a part was needed and it should be there on the Monday (it was then Friday). I left on Wednesday 25th May and as the reception was still poor I assume the part had not been replaced.

Is this the same part, I wonder? We are in blocks 81 and 82, phase 3b.

All I can suggest is phoning Teleast 0034 902 006 270. They appear to be British. There is a cheaper line but last time I phoned it I was told to phone this number instead.

 Please, please send your comments or complaints to Housing at info@housingcomunidades.com and ask them to chase it up.

We all pay a contribution to the TV supply at Roda within our community fees and it would appear the supply from Teleast is just mot consistent.

Apparently we have a great fibre optic system in place at Roda but there are always problems.

You could also try contacting the Entidad Board as I believe they have been researching alternatives.

I e-mailed Housing a couple of days ago but yet to receive a reply surprise, surprise. If and when I do get any response I will post on here but won't hold my breath. If you find out anything Ray would appreciate to hear how you got on.

Housing are based only a kilometer away near Mercadona in San Javier going towards airport. Why don't you pop down there, you'll find complaining in person would achieve more  - I have alaways found this approach has an edge over emails.

Arrived last night to find the TV stations still unwatchable - after 2 months. Will complain tomorrow but I'm thinking of stopping payment for the time no-one has been able to get a decent picture.

What phase are you on? 

Our apartment on Phase 2 was fine this afternoon as was the one we manage on phase 3B.

 I've called the TV company.and they are suppose to be calling out.

I think its individual apartment problems as opposed to a phase issue.

I'm on 3B, block 81. I called them yesterday but they didn't come. Phoned again today and 'Ingrid' said they knew about the problem and that they would see me today. Here's hoping ...

Sorry - it definitely sounds like an apartment problem I'm afraid as it was working fine in block 90 at the other end of 3b. All UK and Spanish digital stations were on the air with a good, clear picture.

 we are in block 81 as well, so it must be an issue with our block

Teleast man came today just before 1pm. Phoned me as I was out (they were supposed to phone with eta so I could be home) and told me my problem sounded like the amplifier needed boosting - I've heard this at least twice before - and he'd go down to the garage and sort it. Said he didn't need my garage key as he knew someone else there.

When I came back, all tvs have all British channels working fine - and clear! I sent him a text to thank him - it may help next time ....

Does anybody know if you can get extra english TV channels?  Can you pay Teleast for Sky channels?  Does a Freebox work by plugging in if I bring one over?

Teleast do their own package, no sky channels apart from sky news but theres 123 channels including movies channels from Dubai!  Theres also a channel called Viva which gives out local info in English.  I get the whole package of tv plus channels, internet and home phone the whole lot is 50 euros a month but not sure how much for just tv.  Hope this helps.
