It sounds like you may not have visited the head office yet - all becomes pretty clear if you get the chance to do that. If you are looking at Jardines de Alhama on Condado de Alhama, most of the best choices have gone i think. Things to consider are orientation, proximity to the main road and the access road. Proximity to the sports facilities (which could be noisy) and proximity to town center. Also different gardens have different aspects to consider - number of properties, number of pools, dimensions of garden, height of the land, etc. There are better gardens in my opinion, the benefit of this phase is the prices are all at original levels.
Los Naranjos de Alhama, is the newer phase on the other side of the main golf course. Prices have gone up slightly but are still good value and it should be possible to be in the garden you want and even facing the right direction! Here also they have the Penthouse style of apartment (my favourite) as well as the previous style. This area has its own town center but now you are further away from the access road and closer to the much more expensive section of detached villas. There are no noisy sports areas here and i think this is the best out of the currently released areas on this site.
Also consider Terrazes de la Torre project and look into those penthouses!
