I am a completed buyer in phase two, it appears to me that what we have now is a rather nice residential community (nice apartments and villas with swimming pools) but many like me want Corvera Golf to be an actual resort, where in theory i could stay on the resort complex for a whole week making use of things like a golf clubhouse, hotel, spa, restaurants, shops, bars, etc. My question is if Calidona is not going to provide these things then could the 400 or so completed buyers band together as a co-op or other legal society or entity and make it happen ourselves ? After all i have invested several hundred thousand euros in my corvera holiday home, if there were legal safeguards i would be happy to put in say a further 5,000 - 10,000 Euro towards such a project, if the other 400 completed buyers did the same we would have Two Million - Four Million Euro, would that be enough to build and run comercial and leisure facilities at Corvera Golf to turn it into more of a resort than a housing complex ? I have read many postings on this forum about legal action, but it appears to me that trying to force Calidona to build the things we want may simply be counter productive, surely if court cases were won then Calidona would go into liquidation and the winner would get nothing but a hefty legal bill and some short lived satisfaction. It might be better if we got together as owners via an owners forum with a legal representative that could approach both Calidona and the local council about taking Corvera over as an entity and running it as a co-op. Any suggestions or thoughts on this ?

Hi All, it's a nice idea but Calidona would have to actually go bust before there would be any chance of the completed owners taking control of the management of the resort. I have been accused on this forum of being a Calidona sympathiser in the past, that's definately not the case, they are a very long way from being perfect owners / managers, it's just that i believe they are not the evil empire that some would have us believe either. Recent storm damage aside the resort is actually looking very good at the moment, so if the banks loosen their purse strings and finance the completion of the clubhouse and the re-opening of the golf course, golf shop and driving range in the coming months then the resort really will start to move forward again.

Hi everyone, not a regular contributor on this forum but I've decided to make a post as there is a whiff of promise in the air I believe. I received an email from Housing informing me that loans have been granted to Calidona. The subject line in the email was 'GOOD NEWS'. Also it's been reported that a contractor has already been on site last week assessing the clubhouse site. Finally I think we are going to see some progress.

Hi, first time on Eye on Spain, however as an owner I have been reading the discussions with interest.
Regarding the "Good News" finance, it was my understanding that this was for payment of the outstanding fees that Corvera owed on community fees etc rather than development (see below extract from the email)
"Corvera Golf has informed us that banks have granted the finance to Corvera. On Tuesday Corvera will be proceeding to pay community and entity fees and the service suppliers will be paid towards the end of next week."
That having been said the pictures of the activity around the clubhouse site does look encouraging so very happy to be wrong re the funding!!

All
Just had confirmation that indeed work has commenced today on the clubhouse for an April opening.
I guess there will be no driving range and buggy hire until then but hopefully there will be no more delays.
Regards
Jonathan
