Car Hire

Has anyone used DoYouSpain recently.  We used them a few years ago and it went a bit pear shaped at the airport when we arrived to say the least.

However would like to give another go - second chances and all that.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey Jeremy we used them from 22nd to 30th June and were given Advantage who are based in car park in blue van at Alicante level 2.

Picked grade with VW Golf and got Mondeo for same price, fuel for full tank return empty was 67 Euros and no deposit for refused extra insurances taken off card!

Thought that was mint! Altogether for 8days it cost me £175

We completed on our apartment last week and trying to get things sorted so that we can come out in a couple of weeks.  Any suggestions for a good hire car company at San Javier airport.  Not done the car hire thing before so any suggestions/advice would be great and hoping we haven't left it too late to book something - it's all happened a bit last minute!!

Firstly Congratulations on your completion!!!  Very exciting time for you.   I would suggest you use "Doyouspain"  " Carjet" and one other to compare prices and always look at it in euros.  I have always got on with Doyouspain.  

Also what type of car you are looking for? If there are 2 of you and this is your first trip after completion I would recomend a berlingo or kangoo, great little run abouts and loads of room to take all that shopping!!!  And trust me you will need it!

Thanks Jackie for your advice re the kind of car as well.  Very useful as we do intend to do a bit of shopping whilst there for the apartment.  We will also have a couple of children in tow as well :-)  I'll take a look at their sites.

Anthony100   Doyouspain  is the agent, you submit a request for date time car etc., they will email you back within 24 hour to confirm the booking with the car hire company you will be dealing with i.e. Record, sol Mar goldstar etc.  You do not pay until you get to the airport, so if you find a better offer just email doyouspain, and they might even come back to you with another offer.

I always use holiday autos and have never had any problems, if you register with QUIDCO and go through them to book  you also get 9% cash back on any bookings you make.
