Current State of the Euro

So what are peopls thoughts on the Euro at the moment with the huge amount of debt the euro zone is in.  Its obvious France & Germany dont want any part in it, but the UK cant keep giving handouts

is it a good thing to scrap it, or keep it.  if it does get scrapped what happens to everyones mortgage, etc.    if its kept how much will the UK feel the hit..

Personal view: if the Euro goes under then all the country´s will revert to their old currency and we will have the Peseta. Great for exchange rates as the value will be extremely low against the pound - this means initially great value when we visit Spain (if you are from the UK or Scandinavia) The Irish is a very different storey!!  However medium to long term the Spanish economy will goes into proper crisis and we will all suffer no matter what the exchange rate is.

More strategically, if the Euro goes, I bet you can kiss goodbye to any foreign investment into major projects like Paramount!

So on balance, I would want the Euro to stay. But I´m not holdng my breath.  (I´m going to have a cold shower now as I am beginning to sound like Darren Wilkes OMG!!)
