Dear All
I have never put a thread on the site, but have read with interest over the last few years the ups and downs of Corvera. There are some great characters on this site and the feedback has been invaluable.
We purchased on phase 3 back in March 2007 and like so many other people, have been on a emotional rollercoaster ever since. This was our dream, but like so many, it became our nightmare. Last summer we decided to return to Corvera and get the update on our future 2 bed apartment. We were not provided with any explanation on its availablity and were offered a discounted property on an earlier phase. I asked whether we would be entitled to our deposit back as I believed there maybe a breach in contract ie...no timescale for the build !! I was informed that this was not possible. No matter what I tried to do or say with regards to this matter, the response was that it was not possible.
We decided that the move to purchase on an earlier phase was not a good idea. We did visit some properties, but actually became disillusioned by what we saw. We were very disappointed with the overall site and the facilities were not 5 star. Infact, there wasn't any!!
We could not see how in this present world recession how Corvera would ever reach the heights that originally captured our hearts. It was also rather eerie and unnerving seeing so many properties empty and many not completing. We had little confidence in the developer and felt very vulnerable.
On returning to the UK, I spent more time reviewing EOS and in particular Maria's blog.
Eventually, I emailed her explaining our situation and asked whether we had a case for receiving a refund. Maria was brilliant. She was very quick to respond and filled us with the confidence to proceed with her. We started proceedings back in December 2010 and in July this year received the full refund back into our bank.
I am still numb about the whole situation, but I would personally like to thank Maria and her team for their professionalism. Although the case did not go to court, I can say that Maria's services certainly put the pressure on Corvera to return our moneys. Remember, I went across there to do the same and got nowhere.
I strongly recommend Maria and her team, should you wish to pursue your deposits back. The advice was first class and all the correspondence was in a format that made it easy to understand.
Finally, for all those people who purchased, I wish you every success and I hope that it delivers the promise that you bought into (you deserve it) and for those who are fighting for their money back again, good luck and don't ever give up!!
All the very best, Mark & Jill
