Hi Joan 1

Everybody seems to have gone quite on this issue, dont know why. I have written another e-mail to taray about their prices, wont hold my breath for a reply as this is about the 6th one i have sent them. Dont think there has been any meetings as i have not heard from my president.

This is an -mail that i have received from my president today.

We had a meeting with taray on thursday night this meeting was only to try and gat a better deal on the price for the owners. First taray have said that any change in the pricing for the pool will be given to the owners that have already paid.

This was a long and at time very heated meeting with threats going in all directions at one point. Taray said we could have the pool and sort it out ourselves. Taray realisied this was a unacceptable comment. e were not there to beat them up but to come to a acceptable price that worked for taray and the owners.

A agreement was reached with taray that there would be a discount for owners, with a extra cost for owners wishing to add extra passes for family, friends or in some cases customers.

We do not have that cost yet from taray i willcome back with the numbers as soon as taray release them then and only then will we be required to make your minds to accept or not.

The only stipulation taray have made is this will be a one off payment for the year this due to owner have taken advantage of any discount price at this time only to go home and cancel the direct debit.

                                                                                                                     End.

Hopefully this is a sign that we are getting somewhere. Let hope that they come back with reasonable prices.

                                                                      Tom.

Thanks very much Tom for the update on this long drawn out saga, it's nice to know something is moving at last with Taray.

Don't think anyone will object to different rates (as it is now) between say a couple and those with a family or those who want to use it for friends etc. What it does need is for the passes to be open and not specified to individuals. If you are paying for 2 then any 2 people using the property can be admitted, likewise with a family pass anyone staying at the property (visitors or renting) can use the passes. In other words the passes go with the property not the individual! What we don't want is the current situation where Taray say for example 'in-laws' are not family members and cannot be included on the passes.

Just returned from a swim at the pool, the sliding cover has now been put in place (although the end is still open) and they have started introducing warm water into the pool today.

Been to the pool today, what an excellent facility, we have been waiting for for several years, the winter rate is now in force, at 3 euro for the whole day is excellent value which you will not match in the UK. You can obtain further discounts on the daily rate, 10 for 27 euro, quite frankly I don't know what all the fuss is about, very few peaple used the pool today, the roof is now on, the pool is heated, a lifeguard on duty and receptionist. My view is USE IT or LOOSE IT, we waited so long for this excellent facility.

Yes thats great 3 euros a day if you live there, but  in the summer it won't be that, am sorry but don't agree that we have to pay membership they were asking for  for owners of properties, we have been waiting since 2007 for, and is expensive for a family in the summers at 5 euros per person which we were asked for.

Yes 3 euros a day is ok if you want to stay at the pool all day (nothing wrong with that by the way).  The problem is if you just want a quick dip, which we would, for a family of 4 it would cost 12 euros for 30 or 40 mins.  This would be 20 euros in the summer!

Hi PeterD

The fuss is that we as owners were promised the use of the pool and its facilities at a reasonable price. As you mentioned in your post, very few people used the pool today. Maybe thats because they are refusing to pay the high prices that taray are looking for. Look at todays temperature (28 degrees) and the pool is empty. 3 euros per day may seem reasonable for one person, but for a family of 4, that would cost them 12 euro per day, or with discount 108 euros for 10 days. That is the winter price. We want to use it but not at these prices.

I am sure one of the biggest problems is that we all dealt with different sales people. Many of these were selling on commission from Taray and were only interested in completing their sale. So the vague information they gave out about the pool waso pen to different interpretation.  We always understood that we had to pay on use and that the pool was open to everyone.  If I did not like the price then I had a choice.

However in my book, a family includes my daughter in law. Taray really have that element wrong in their rules.

totally amazed at the pool comments my two nephews back in england go to the local pool £2.20 for one hour session of swimming a local council pool aswell, and yet people are still moaning at the complex prices in san cayetano, better facilitys and all day what you must take into account it cost money to build plus money to run aswell as wages for staff, gardeners, life guard etc.. you all waited for this and must have known you had to pay, if it was your complex would you charge for the use or not? it is a buisness not a charity.

Just back from a swim and it seems there are a few changes afoot to say the least!!!

First they have now fitted the end panel so the pool is totally enclosed, although there is still access to the outside. The pool temperature is ideal for swimming, however.........

Second they have now split the pool into 5 lanes which makes it a bit restrictive for free swimming (Fran says these are to be permenant)

Third, they have now extended the opening hours in the week but have introduced Swimming lessons for different groups of children and adults, plus Aquagym, Aquaerobics and Therapeutic Swimming. This is going to restrict the free swimming for owners which may be down to only one or two lanes being open at certain times. When we left a lesson was just starting for about 7 Spanish Children aged about 7-8 years old. There is a leaflet in Spanish posted in the reception giving details of all these lessons and there does seem to be an awful lot of them. Its not clear when the pool will be totally free.

The new hours are from 9am - 10pm Monday to Friday.

Saturday 9am - 1.30pm then closed until open again 5pm - 8pm

Sunday 9am -1.30pm then closed for the rest of the day!!  (These times can be seen on the Aquadel web site)

Think this will be the case until the end of May.

Was any of this mentioned at the recent Presidents meeting with Taray? as I don't think a lot of owners who signed up for annual membership were expecting this, particularly the reduced opening hours at the weekends.

Hi Dave,

The only thing that was discussed at the recent meeting with taray was a reduction in prices for owners. Id say this will be put on the long finger now that they have come up with another way of getting extra income for themselves. Restricting the free swimming time and opening hours at weekends will only deter owners of using the facilities even if they reduce the price.

Quite right Tom, I think it is particularly restrictive for the people who live and work here, as the weekend is perhaps the only time that they can get to use the facilities.

I did try to upload a copy of the leafet showing the lessons, times and prices offered (which I managed to 'aquire' whilst up at the pool) but the print is a bit small and you don't seem to be able to zoom into photos to enlarge the print. Maybe i'll try and have another go at it later.

Have now managed to get a readable size copy of the leaflet uploaded on to photo's, albeit in 3 parts and sideways on.

There is a similar table on the rear of the leaflet refering to the Padel Tennis.

 Dear All

I have been enjoying my swimming the last few days, paying my 3 euro's per day, going backward and forwards as many times as I like. BUT the Spanish have decided it is now WINTER and erected the screens across the end with NO ventilation, when I proceeded to open the now emergancy exit I was promply told NO NO NO, it must have been 50 deg. in there, I promply left and will not return, crazy Spanish.

Hi we were also there this week, we were enjoying a swim then a laze in the sun, when suddenely it was winter!!!!!

You were right peter it was 34 deg outside and inside was a humid oven, the lifegard was swimming as it was so uncomfortable... When we asked why the doors were not open we were told it was winter..........

This takes away from the social aspect of the pool, i know if i was the proposed leasee of the new cafe i would be having this issue out with taray.. They seemed to have forgotten that the average temp in ireland and uk for summer is approx 22deg, and whilst 30 deg might be taken as cold by spanish standard, its positively scorching for us. Surely it would not be too much to ask to be able to exit through the doors and enjoy the sunshine, and thereby have some coffee or snacks from proposed cafe..

Their decision to restrict access to the terraces is perhaps one of the most stupid they have had in a while. It means that you will only be able to go have a swim and leave, yet pay premium prices for this???

Though I am reflecting on the point that this was tuesday when this occured and they could have changed their positon on wednesday and on thursday it could perhaps be turned into some sort of winter wonderland....
