This comes from an animal lover but i am fed up hearing dogs barking and owners do not seem to have any consideration for their neighbours at all.

I feel like i am living in a KENNEL not my house as we cant have a conversation without  hearing them, or watch our tv this goes on day & night !!!

As i say we both are dog lovers it is not the dogs fault is their owners, dogs need disicplined just like our children do. We have asked 1 dog owner to keep their dog from barking but this has fell on deaf ears, when 1 dog starts they all start barking and we have a new large dog which has a very loud bark this is in a rental quad.

I can imagine if it was kids playing football or on skateboards the owners woud not accept it so in my opinon their is no difference.

Anyone got any ideas what we can do about this please.

Thanks

Shirley & Mark Graham

Fantastic just asked THE PRESIDENT of Manzana 4 Mr. Kevin Blunt ( my neighbour) to stop his dog barking and have been told to go away from his gate as his dog can bark up until 12.00pm and not a thing i can do and he was very smug about his comment .

Very unapproachable man ..

Thanks for this link from a person who has dogs & children an understanding person.

Also my quote on kids playing football & on skateboards was not a dig at anyones kids it was purely a point that these people would tell the kids off for the noise outside their gates if they where to play there evey night it would get on their nerves i am sure.

I have brought up 2 boys so i was not being anti-kids like i am not anti -dogs its purely a discipline issue.

hi shirley...

can only sympathise ref your president.. what can you say if somebody is so smug.. there is a device to stop a dog barking but not sure what it is called but i seem to remember it was an ultrasonic device.

I totally agree with your comments ref barking as we have two dogs ourselves that we had to train.. yes it took a lot of time and effort but worked in the end, we used a water pistol as a quick and painless deterrant.

good luck with your quest!

I am appalled to think anyone would think of using those devices you describe, they are cruel and in England the R.S.P.C.A are trying to get them banned, as they cause pain and distress to an animal, take the time to train your dog properly, don't agree with a water pistol either, the poor animal would not understand all these stupid ways of training. and will only be confused, taking time to train and show you care about your pet or don't have one. dogs bark!

I suggest humane ways of training or go to a dog training class if they have them there. You suggested  the device that stops dogs barking. as an animal lover that is somthing I would never suggest its so cruel. training takes time and effort there is no quick way of doing it, the reward is the love and trust of your pet.

They are not my dogs to take to training classes.

I would rather not get in to this type of discussion maybe if you lived in my house for a week or two you would undertand what i have to listen to night & day.

shirley you are wasting your time talking to people that dont read post properly   and it is the owners of the dogs that are at fault   dogs barking day  and is not fair on the dogs or the poor people that have to put up with  them  x

What i was concerned about was reccommending a device to stop barking that is cruel and causes distress. I understand your problem and can read, all i was saying is there are other ways. If they are barking all day they may be distressed or being neglected.then it needs reporting. to whoever that maybe,  I am more concerned with helping homless and abused animals  in my Town to get into a slanging match.

If  you read what i said about these devices on sale that are cruel and cause pain to an animal you wouldn't make a joke of it, if you recommend these devices you are encouraging it, like the adverts at the bottom of your post.

I sympathise greatly with shirley graham. On my last visit the barking dogs caused me several sleepless nights.Think this is nothing to do with dog devices but more to do with inconsiderate dog owners. Surely shirley's president should be setting a good example and helping people with their problems not causing them. As for the dog annoying neighbours I have been told someone on phase 2 has successfully issued a denuncia over a noisy dog. Also it would seem we have lots of people who profess to be dog lovers but from the state of the footpaths not many clean up after them.
