ants ants ants!!!!

hi all

 

can anyone reccommend a good ´ant deterrent´  as i cant use poison in case my cats eat it!!

there seems to have been many more ants this year! anyone else noticed this?

they seem to be finding more new holes as i fill the others with putty!!

There does seem to be more this year...not sure why. I have 3 "deterrents" but all are unsuitable for use in presence of domestic animals.

Have you tried hoovering them up with your industrial vacuum cleaner? - I find this strangely satisfying!

 to be honest the thought hadn't crossed my mind - until now, lol !!

i must admit i had a chuckle when i read that and will be playing with the machine on saturday!!

What you need are bait stations. These are called Antstop and they are made by Home Defence. You buy them in DIY stores. They are plastic circular trays appro 3inch diameter and sold in packs of two. Apron £4 I have tried others but they not as good. The ant goes into small openings and takes the bait back to their nests killing the ants. They take a few days to start being effective and last for 3 months. They are very good I have tried cheaper versions but they were useless. They should be safe for cats unless your cat chews things.

i tried the cheaper ones from mercadona and they were useless as you say.

i'll try the antstop then.
